Oh yeah I know. I already loved a lot of the tunes on that list. I'm trying to remember the name of the modern YR band they had one the doc (oldish guy with long grey hair). Their stuff sounded pretty decent.

Sadly, Yacht Rock is well and truly jumping the shark now. The day a covers band trading off the back of a load of someone else's hard work started sending out cease and desist letters to anybody using a term they didn't even coin but just had the better idea of trademarking it, it started to not be a joy any more.

With Steely Dan, start at the end and work backwards on albums, even starting with The Nightfly by Donald Fagan as album number 1. That way you start a bit more pop and become increasingly bippity bip bop jazzy.
