Well, I see that Hull City have formally applied to be known as Hull Tigers which is pretty much in line with the sort of silly names that sports Teams in the USA get lumbered with.

So what could we ever be known as - ignoring the obvious Southend Shrimps which is hardly likely to strike fear in to the hearts of the opposition!

Sadly, although perhaps aptly, it would be the Southend Blues.

I'd prefer something like the Southend Seasiders

ps Shrimpers not Shrimps!

I quite fancy 'Do one United', has a certain sophistication to it:smile:. With a title like that we could move the club anywhere (in Essex obviously) without changing the club stationary, sorted!

Wasn't Southend Saxons mooted a number of years back?

Southend Nectars? (Sainsbury link)

I might be being a little too "PC" but anything with an "S" for the second word ends up with us being the "SS".

If you don't know about the "SS" then ask your dad. Perhaps it is an age thing.

There aren't many "Z" letters in the league ......... so the Southend Zulus might suit. Could prove to be a very useful tool for inventive team strips and other marketing initiatives ................
