Question Which seemingly universally hated ex-Shrimper did you think was OK?

Matt Harrold is the obvious answer as I've defended him many times on here. However, I'd also like to nominate Dave McSweeney. Sure, he was no world-beater and, yes, he did score a hideous own goal against Orient but I personally thought he was generally half-decent when I saw him (I couldn't get to every home game back then). He was tidy on the ball, did a job in all three defensive positions and scored a belter against Carlisle.

I personally thought he was better than Mark Warren, who in my opinion was god-awful and somewhat masked his lack of ability by playing the fist-clenching look-at-me-I'd-die-for-the-cause card, which won some of the crowd over.

A bit like Barrett. Although god-awful is probably a bit harsh

I'm pretty sure that I'll be on my own on this one, but I thought Simon Livett was OK. Like any midfielder whose chief skills are their willingness to receive the ball and make simple passes, I think he was often judged on what others did with the possession he gave them. I defy anybody to form a thriving midfield partnership with Mark Beard.
