I had a pretty unpleasant thought yesterday: Graham Westley.
Might do a job till the end of the season. It wouldn't be pretty but we're not pretty at the moment. The team look so disorganised and confused that someone like him might be able to address that.
I'm proud of myself for thinking it, or happy at the prospect, but it might be an option.

really?

I love a bit of Gossip what did he do?

I was walking past the bar after a game and heard him kick-off. He completely lost the plot and was swearing and threatening everyone. Normally just shouts stuff about football, but this was different. One bloke was about to lump him and I stopped him and explained Kev's illness. Unfortunately Kev got even worse and louder, and fans started leaving the bar because of it. Then the big bear bearded barman came over, but got loads of abuse. So the barman told him he's barred, and to get out. Kev went spitting and swearing. I was told the next week he was barred from Roots Hall. He had forgot to bring his meds that day apparently. He normally comes by about 6 buses he used to tell me from the Hornchurch area, but got beat up or punched on the buses a few times. So it might have done him a favour not making the long trip to Roots Hall. When his meds would start to wear off he would come out with strange things that would get him punched. He goes to games all over Essex, but not on Canvey, as he got his worse beating there.

Usually have great confidence in Ron's choice of manager..........he doesn't make that many mistakes. Can only think that he, like many of us, was so grateful to Bond for saving us last season, he offered him the job. Those a little more detached, were not taken in and identified the frailties he had already shown (at Rochdale).
Anyway choice of successor will be carefully considered, following the Bond fiasco. I think he will go for experience at this level. The Cowley's would never come........why on earth would they? Seems to be a good set up at Lincoln. ST...........really? wonderful memories, let's keep it that way..........no experience at this level for years.....look forwards, not backwards. Adam Barratt? Loves the club but honestly he has his career on a really good trajectory - first team coach at Millwall - why would he jeapordise that, risking a hiding for nothing, coming back here. Whilst my confidence in Ron for a new stadium is not high, I do believe he'll find us the right manager.........just be patient!

I feel sorry for the old woman that goes with him, I assume thats his Mum? Also sad in a way that he is now barred from the hall, when you think people like scott peters are still allowed in..

Notwithstanding RM being on his hols, seem to recall it went very quiet prior to SCP's departure - wouldn't be surprised if there's an awful lot going on behind the scenes and we'll (hopefully) hear something sooner rather than later..... ?

Why don’t we get in Penny Picker Steve ??? He would reduce the wage budget and and cut a lot of costs tbh. Also free flowers at every game :? Failing that then I would op for Your mum.

Quite a few years ago, Steve Ward and some souvenir sellers actually took Penny Picker Steve to Australia to sell souvenirs at some big rugby games out there. Don't ask me why. Off course, things didn't go well. Lol.

He was walking past the spread after the Blackpool game talking perfect sense, he was shouting “worst team in league one” lol

The thing is yeh I like Adam barrett but why would he instantly get respect from the players ? A lot of the players we have in the squad nkw never even played with him. That ship has past I think. He should of taken over at the start of last season for the respect side of things .

Exactly the point I keep making, why would the players respect him, I doubt many know who he is, so it's not like he'll walk through the door and they'll all be bowing to him; unless the read Shrimperzone of course!!

Why wouldn't they respect him though?

Barrett might at least sort out the defence I guess. Plus he has passion for the club and the players who haven’t a clue who he is would pick that up from the fans soon enough. I’m in the “too inexperienced” camp but he’d be an improvement on Bond. I’d like to see him back as a coach maybe or a #2. For great players becoming great gaffers just see our last manager (for what it’s worth I think he’d have probably kept us up. Bond managed it).

I think he's still barred from Roots Hall, after the trouble he caused in the Far Post bar.

I feel really sorry for the guy. I work in mental health and he's obviously struggling. I know he's got a LD too, but when I spoke to him in the past he was overly negative but not saying anything unusual.

Last year, he was banging on about the team being 'shape shifters' and Powell being a drug dealer. He's obviously wasn't well, I hope he's had some help. If that's the case and he wants to come back, I for one would welcome him. Not as manager though!
