Taking that ever so slightly out of context...

I think he means "In order for him to get a contract, he has to prove he's better than what they've already got," rather than: "He simply has to be better than what that sorry outfit has."

I disagree ESB. If that's what he meant, I'm sure Ian Benjamin would have said he's got to prove himself to be better.
I think it was more of a compliment to the player.
 
Let's face it, barring a minor effing miracle, we ain't gonna find another Freddy. And, to be honest, given our offield issues, I'd rather keep the minor miracles for keeping the club afloat than getting out of league 2 first time. If we have to stay in league 2 for a while in order to get ourselves together again, fine by me. Better a club in the lowestprofessional league in the country than no club at all.
