Echo News Winger impresses Southend United boss Phil Brown

Even if he is, as you say, pacy, tricky and got a good first touch (how you’ve come to that conclusion in 44 minutes of football is a conversation for another time)

why does that mean he instantly has to play up front?

Because then all the fans can moan that he isn’t big, strong, aggressive and good in the air ??

Slight overreaction from a few here. He’s played as a striker before, is 6ft 2, has a good bit of pace and is 20 years old, not 16. I’m sure he’s desperate to play. I don’t think anyone’s suggesting we put him up front with Rush and task them with saving our season, then shoot them down in flames if they don’t.

People have just made observations that we can’t hit a cow’s arse with a banjo at the moment and have therefore suggested we allow more minutes to two of our younger players who have caught the eye for the right reasons lately. Can they do any worse? Of course they could. But maybe they’ll bring a bit of confidence and freshness into the side.
