The toastie thread had me thinking:

What meal/snack do you cook really well.

I make a mean Shepherds Pie, mainly because I copied my mum's recipe.

What really stands out is my Bacon sarnies. Fresh bread from a bakers, butter and properly fried Bacon with Tommy sauce. My mate used to stay over at mine (god rest his soul) just for one of my bacon sandwiches. Cooked to perfection every time, I can't eat one from a cafe as they just don't compare.

So what will you not eat anywhere else because you make it the best?

Pancakes.........light sprinkling of sugar and lemon. Trouble is once I eat two before you know it I've sunk five or six and I can't get out of the recliner :D

Forgot about those...I love making pancakes, so does my wife, but I love a lot of sugar and Lemon

I do a fantastic Cassoulet, been tinkering with the recipe for a few years and have got it perfect now.

Apple crumble or bread and butter pudding for dessert.

My mum was American, so I have inherited her Brownie recipe, and I do it justice even if I say so myself.

Beans on toast! Lightly seasoned with chilli powder, cooked with HP BBQ sauce and Worcester sauce, served on mildly done toast, finished off with finely grated cheese.

Everything ;)

Currently making home made pizza from scratch - ie my own dough, roasted garlic tomato sauce. The only thing I don't do is make the cheese.

I was thinking about starting this exact same thread myself as my missus and kids have gone across to the UK ahead of me and I'm cooking all my own meals for a couple of weeks.

My speciality is bangers and mash....the difference being my lovely creamy mashed potatoes.

I also do a lovely breakfast speciality (which I'm going to make for myself this very morning). One fresh white bread roll, generously buttered. Place a hashbrown it, topped if with freshly cooked bacon and some HP sauce and a fried egg on top if that. Two of those with a big mug of steaming hot tea is the breakfast of champions, let me tell you!

For me it has to be curries.

I do different curries from the mild & creamy/fruit to the tasty arse burners. My secret? An Indian customer, who used to be a chef & provides the authentic ingredients!!!

roast dinners, which is a shame as the missis is a vegaterian and quorn roast just isn't the same

Paella or Jamaican Jerk Chicken... Got the Paella from my mum who used to make it but it's not right without all the ingredients, Chorizo, Chicken, Prawns, Mussels and the all important Saffron.

The Jerk Chicken is from a mate of mine, he's of jamaican descent and whenever I was round his mum used to bring out the best Jerk Chicken in the world, that and her Curry Goat was immense. I picked it up when I went to Uni and have perfected it now... It's all about the rice you serve it with though, and I do a mean Coconut Rice with Spring Onions and Pineapple... Brilliant.

That is the one, I love hash browns in a sandwich!

Since Mrs LF hot footed it up North in May, I've gone a bit bonkers in the kitchen. I was never allowed to cook before!!!

Speciaility are spicy meatballs in a goulash sauce. Dead simple to do if you've got the time.

Pork escalopes in a lemon sauce. Bit fiddly, and again you need the time.

Did a great bit of trout stuffed with fruit.

I've become a bit of food anorak and am trying all sorts of poncey stuff you see on Masterchef.

Anyone wanna come round for dinner!
