Can't see the maths of reduced prices, sadly.
5,000 at an average £15, (seniors/kids/concessions factored) is £75,000. 7,000, assuming you attract 2k more, at an average £10 is £70,000.
Also, the gate is split 50-50, and the other side have to agree to pricing, I believe. The home advantage means all the other revenue streams on the day go to us (or Ron).
Chester will have to do, but with six other Essex sides in the hat, how did we miss them all?

One of the last times Southend charged full price for a cup game was the FA Cup 2nd round replay v Oxford the crowd was only 2,700 (League crowds that season were 8,000+).

Mind you we had reduced prices for the Bury 2nd round replay two seasons ago and the crowd was only 3,043 and the 1st round v Stockport was only a 3,084 crowd also with reduced prices.

Even with reduced prices we are looking at a low crowd v Chester, if we charge full league prices then I dread to think what the crowd will be.

We have also increased prices, the Man United game was £30 for an Adult & £15 for kids and that was nearly eight years ago now. I cant remember how much the Chelsea replay tickets were?
