Latest Rumours January transfer window

Think hes way past it sadly , 5 games in last two years. Tried to get fit to play at Gillingham last year and Northampton previously couldnt make it at either, didnt play at all for Gillingham, they also wrote similar positive things to us thinking it just might work out, Also didnt happen at Oxford prior to that because of injuries, how many examples do we need? thats 3 loans , none worked

But good player in his day without doubt
True- but to give it a little more context those 5 starts and indeed 4 additional substitute appearances have all been whilst in the squad for all 11 games since his return from a year out in Nov. Thing is does his involvement every week since beginning Nov and 9 games in L1 represent a successful return from injury? At least regular involvement since beginning Nov might mean match fitness.

Before his season long being out he had two seasons where he started as a regular at the beginning of the season before missing the remainder from or before Xmas with again long injuries.

16/17 he was playing regularly. In fact when not injured over the last 4 seasons he has been a regular- so its not ability in question and what he could bring, more how much confidence does 2 months of regular game time in L1 give us that a contract to the end of the season is a reasonable bet. Without than from early Nov and match fitness it would be a definite no.

If we were looking to get Green back in, I don't think we would have signed Walsh. Maybe he wasn't quite the right fit when he was here?

There's no doubt that Walsh has been signed in preference to Green. MM would have known that Barnsley would be releasing Green but clearly has seen more ability/ potential in Louis.

If its Holmes on a very reasonable wage then thats fine otherwise it stinks of a Kightly situation - half a decade too late.
Ricky Holmes has always been one player I would love to have at Southend. Absolute quality, always has been, and I have watched him for Northampton this season in the cup. He came on and changed the game. Would absolutely love him here. A deal to the end of the season with a review then.

Tenuous fame claim coming up - I went to school with Dave Gahan's ex-Mrs! (still FB friends infact)
The boy's done good!
