Chris Powell may end up as our new manager, but it's not that cut and dried it seems.

An extract from today's Echo:

'Chris Powell has held more talks with Southend United, Echosport understand.

The 48 year old remains the club's number one option to replace the departed Phil Brown as manager at Roots Hall. And negotiations have reached a critical stage, with more news expected in the next 48 hours.'

That could mean good or not so good news or progress has/has not been made. either way we arn't going to know just yet.
