Wouldn't mind a home friendly against Charlton. Fairly local, and would be a good test, with them having just come down.

Very unusual to play someone in your own division. Can you imagine them arranging a friendly v Charlton on say Sat 30th July and then playing them in the League a week later!

Had heard that another Prem team would be lined up hopefully. What about Colchester or Daggers as well? Would be quite happy with either of those :winking: #oneteaminEssex

The majority of Southend fans support West Ham in some way shape or form.:winking:

That is probably the most untested assumption on here to date. Accept that they are a club close to us, yes, ok. Support them, highly unlikely, but like you I cannot prove it.

The players haven't even been told the spain dates yet, the players haven't even been told when pre season training starts yet to report back!!

I understand that but don't be the sort of prick who sits in the home end wearing a West Ham shirt and celebrate when a goal is scored

It's a friendly. That attitude in itself just explains football to a tee. No problem with the Rugby lads doing this amongst many other sports but football and oh no. Just get over it. It's a West Ham XI coming to play in the Summer aimed at both sides imrpoving their fitness. Let's just enjoy the occasion. If you get that riled about West Ham scoring a goal in a pre-season friendly then you need to chill out. That's not specifically aimed at you only the first part due to your 'don't be a pr1ck' comment.

They report back on the 4th of July and I know the Spain dates, so I guess the players must.

But this isn't rugby it's football. It's irrelevant what rugby fans do. Segregation is better for atmosphere during competitive games and whilst it doesn't matter so much at friendly games it's unnecessary for away fans to be parading around the home end (which it still is despite it being a friendly) in away colours. Is it really that difficult for them to put down their West Ham replica shirts and wear some normal clothes for one game?

Results in a pre season game don't bother me. But the obnoxious people wearing West Ham shirts in the home end do. That's all.

Not specifically aimed at you:smile:

As Rigsby said they report back on 4th July. The players should know as PB announced it at the Shrimpers Trust awards night and most of them were there.
