Steve Tilson gone threads

Very sad news but not unexpected - RM's masterplan is nearly complete.
I hope that Tilly is not holding his breath on his contract being 'honoured' - just like the club have honoured all our playing staff's and employees contract's over the last year!
Am sure Tilly will find employment very quickly and whereever he ends up they will be very lucky with a good, hardworking Manager. Quote RM 'Working hard Monday morning' - it will take all of 5 minutes to announce that probably Ricky Duncan or the Kit Man are now in charge.

Thanks for all the memories Tilly, hope that one day you may come back when things have changed and we have a new
regime running our Club.

I don't think you are far off the mark there Roxy.
seems to me that RM has had this cunning plan for a time.
Suck the energy out of the club whilst bleeding it dry and along the way make sure you strip it of its assets and transfer what they had into another company, then let it go to rot.
Lets be honest here the club no longer has any assets other than its playing staff/managers and those are now minimal.

A bad workman always blames his tools and RM can see no wrong doing on his part. It is about time that someone at the club opens theirs eyes and see that it is RM causing the problems here - no-one else.
Lets hope that some of them on the board have some backbone and balls and stand upto this weasel

Whilst I agree this is clearly a bad decision, don't forget that this was a 'unanimous board decision,' NOT just Ron Martin, so whilst I understand the anger, it shouldn't be solely directed at one man.

I think you will find no other members of the board have any say in it as RM owns the overall majority of shares....Other Directors have left for this very reason recently.

Just about to reply with the same thing.

What is even more heartbreaking is the fact that RH was orginally brought by SUFC supporters and now we have been robbed of a team and ground by a little man who knows sweet FA about football other than hoping that he could make a quick £ or two.

Unbelievable, Tilson was the superglue who held this club together, he was Mr Southend and even Colchester fans admitted he had done a magnificent job under difficult circumstances in the last few years. I have no doubt he will get another job in the game and maybe both club and manager needed a change, but with all these issues going on, now was not the time.

Respect to the man for what he has done, and will do in the future, even though he hates us!

:(

I am gutted, a real legend treated like this, thank you tilly for helping me fall in love with SUFC all over again, Im 33 years old and have been a blues fanatic for as long as I can remember and this is easily the worst time I can remember, at least anton jonson was a blatant c**t and done the dirty, Ron it seems is a whole different kettle of fish **** off and leave my club alone

This was the worst thing he could have done. For all the idiotic denial of the past few years.................he's got to be thick as **** to not realise that he has now destroyed whatever shred of credibility, reputation and benefit of doubt he MIGHT have had left from some fans. He is now beyond the point of no return, he has to sell up and leave.

Have you ever known of a chairman to score so many own goals?
Perhaps all along it was for his 'own goal'.

The other thing is that we don't know if Tilly went and saw Martin about the staged Scriven interview part 123. In which he was very uncomplimentary and undermined him.

Also, if true, how have they got another manager lined up to be announced. They are meant to interview a lot of candidates and try and pick the best one. Maybe he can't be bothered or it is a very cheap and untested Ricky Duncan.

Good luck Steve, you're better off out of it.
Lets just hope it's only a matter of time before that egotistical cretin and his associated lap-dogs are forced out of SUFC and either you can return to perform the job you've excelled at or that it's only a matter of time before AFC Southend (or whatever any new entity is called) will be successful enough to match your own ambitions.

Thanks for the memories and for all the success.

Loyalty didn't cut both ways in the end. When Southend were flying, Tilly was sought after. He could have gone to a few club's on a lot more money and a nice transfer budget. But he stayed with his beloved Southend.

Steve, Like I say, I thought you were unlucky. I thought your team, erm dominated the league last season and were unlucky not to get something out of the season.

Like I say two relegations isnt ideal but like I say we are a good team. We battled hard and deserved more. Couldnt have asked for more from your players.

Like I say, Thanks Steve. Good luck whatever happens.

the only passionate people in the club have all gone now:
Tilson
Barrett
Macca (at times)
Brush

its all ending and its all ron's fault!
Tilson is/was Southend United....
