Im glad CP tells it how it is, he has an honest opinion on things, he supports this club too but he also has a job to do. He must know far more than he puts on twitter too, some things he cant put public no doubt.

I always knew he'd run over your cat, dinged your car or spilled your pint but this probably explains a lot. Is it fair to say that all this "Tilson slags off the fans", "Tilson's a nasty bit of work" stuff you've told us simply comes from the fact he didn't like you?

Genuine question Scott as, the odd disgruntled didn't-quite-cut-it ex-player aside, I've never met anyone else with a bad word to say about him as a character.


As for people questioning reporting of late wages, we might not want to hear it sometimes but it IS news and the Press have a job to do. It's hardly their job to suppress information. Similarly, it would be bizarre for US not to discuss a topic like this on a Southend United forum. It might be nothing new, but it IS definitely relevant.

Tell me why, two players that have been part of the recent issues have signed for another two years ? My question is, is it as bad as people want it to be ? Again I have no insider at the club and regardless what was mentioned earlier I don't just agree to stereotypes - but I do wonder , if my boss continually paid me late etc etc and I had another job offer with more money elsewhere, would I sign up for two more years ????

Did you not read what I said? Loads of people make money from football, the only people who don't are the shareholders of the clubs and these don't buy clubs for financial gain. Look around, every sport is now commercial driven.

I never said they could survive on their own, but they can if they actually run themselves better.

Finally, I was actually agreeing with you. I wasn't talking about you on that, I was just talking in general to all the posters that act surprised when a story like this happens.

My problem with the football / bankruptcy thing is that also all he money is beng taken out of he game as well. When you read the paper you read of stupid offers and wages for very average players. It's scary that one of te largest imdustries in England at the moment is actually allowed to operate in a way that only see it self implode. Personally I've never blamed the players, if I was offered 200k a week , as a right back, of course I'd accept it !

But this mismanagement in the premier league is making the life line of clubs like our shorter. As I said, iAgree that that it's all cause for concern at the moment, but its not news. Furthermore whilst we are near the edge of the financial cliff, whether we are he closest to the edge or not, we are no way the only club up there !

That is the most contradictory response ever !! People either care about being paid or not, the issue about the PFA is true goes against what is under discussion. I'm sorry, but I would not think "right my payments are awful, I could go elsewhere , on more money , nah I'll stay here and rely on the Union " !!

Again , I'm not head in sand, or blind, or in love with Martin ..... Etc, but you need an alternative if not have to realise that what you've got you've got !!

And for another time - THERE IS NO ALTERNATIVE !!!! He is not selling. He wants to move us to FF and will not allow anyone else complete this. Harp on as much as you can about RM etc, but its done , it's pointless. All we have left is support. Support of the players, the club, the manager etc !! Life is to short unless you personally can the current situation, which I am assuming you can't!

Eventually, these sort of long term "cashflow" problems (just like ours) can't be ignored any longer.You have to wonder just how much longer the Chairman can get away with "robbing Peter to pay Paul," or whatever financial irregularities he's currently up to.
