Not according to Beefy............so I thought I'd come over here and share the words of Anthony Wedgewood Benn but they're obviously wasted...........is this another abuse without a shred of an argument to support the abuse place?

Ha! I've seen TB talk many times. His anti-EU views were well known.Unlike him, the Labour party (after losing an election under Michael Foot on an anti-EU stance back in '83) turned itself into a pro-EU party.

For reasons as to why I'm pro-EU scroll back a few pages.

You might want to change your signature....

Plenty of irony in that signature.

Will Merkel be 'right' for speeding up the break up of the EU. Or will she be 'right' for helping the inevitable rise in right wing politics throughout Europe.

The former.

The EU and more particulsrly the Euro inevitably caused the latter.

No she'll be "right" for showing a positive lead in the ongoing refugee crisis.Something the rest of Europe should wake up to.

The idea that the EU will "break up" is clearly some sort of UKIP fantasy.

I wouldn't go on the pooter late at night old chap.Inevitably leads to typos (not to mention muddled thinking).:winking:

Have you read Paul Mason in the Grauniad today?

Or is it the Telegraph for you these days now you're best pals with Dave?

Read the beginning.

Where is he wrong? (Spelt correctly).

Much as I like Paul Mason,(especially his Newsnight and C4 economic reports),he's always been a bit of a maverick.

The article ( very much like his recent PostCapitalism:A Guide to our Future) is good on analysis, short on solutions.

(In fact the only solution he offers is the one I quoted).

His solution is to exit.

The timing of exit is a party political issue but he has analysed all of the pros and cons and his solution is unequivocally to exit.

Yes that was clear from what I quoted.AsI said, Paul Mason's always been a maverick.

The left,on the whole,is not divided over the EU.

Tories like you are.

Now now old chap.

I think you'll find that I'm the one defending the right of British workers to shape their own destiny whereas you are joining with the Tory Prime Minister, the CBI, the Bank of England, the IMF, the bureaucratic monolith in Brussels and many other capitalist institutions that I didn't realise were so close to your heart.

AWB would turn in his grave - and that arch Tory, Michael Foot.
