What is hacking you off today?

Tried to listen/Watch the Live Streaming from the Mimack theatre two days ago (on zoom):While the picture quality was excellent the sound was intermitent at best. Now I consider myself something of a pro at watching live theatre streams (from the NT etc and the audio/visual quality has always been excellent).Used to use zoom a lot back in the day too ( never fo a theatre broadcast) but wouldn't recommend this "service" to anyone ,unfortunately.

@pottster making an agreement is the first step but as MattE posts the system is broken AND more is wrong than pay and conditions.
Agreed. Need to nip in the bud the paying over the odds for cover and just pay them a better wage. Then those that "float" between hospitals picking up the big pay cheques join a hospital and then have some accountability rather than do a shift and then move to another hospital for a week or so.

I'd wager the payment for agency staff is the same if not double (or more) the wage bill for normal staff where they are employed directly at the hospital.

Its a good system in principal, but too many people take advantage of the fact its free and use A&E for things such as paper cuts to wanting paracetamol. Don't even get me started on some of the calls that sometimes come into the 999 call centres.

"A man who called 999 as he was advised to call 111 but did not know the number"

Wrapping Christmas presents. every year it's a complete nightmare and this year was no exception. Sticky tape not sticking, wrapping paper splitting, cutting paper to small, you name it I did it. To say the air was blue is an understatement.
We have wrapped Christmas presents in brown paper for the past few years, with a bit of coloured ribbon tied round. Much easier to wrap than flimsy Xmas paper and gives it the old school look

It really depends on the quality of paper you buy. Good quality paper won't tear, but is unnecessarily expensive, especially as (unless you're careful) it will get ripped off and thrown straight in the bin.

I wrap my presents in old Newspapers, looks rather retro tided with a red ribbon, and I like recycling them.

Much better than having to read the crap that is printed on them, and it is therefore fitting that I wrap my crap presents in them as well. :Winking:

When did doner kebabs get so small?

I don't eat them that often but the last one I had was like a sports holdall filled with meat.

This one was like an open sandwich at a poncey cafe.

Tried to make a chocolate yule log today, followed the recipe correctly but it doesn't look good. It had only 3 eggs, which I thought was a tad light in a roulade style recipe but went with it and now am sure 4 or 5 would have been better for the batter before stirring in the flour and chocolate powder.
Drat and blast.
Home made sausage rolls and mince pies are v good though.

Oh no, is it unsalvageable?

Love home made sausage rolls - one of my colleagues at work, his sister in law makes some amazing ones, which we always get a big batch of at Christmas. She uses hot dog sausages/frankfurters, with a spreading of some kind of tomato and herb paste, wrapped in chorizo and then baked in flaky pastry - they are absolutely delicious! Won't tell us the exact recipe though
