It looks like it from the photos I've seen, Cyril. Is this the place in the middle of a parade of shops with the mock-mock tudor interior?

I know you live in an addled brain county @Gt Yarmouth Shrimper, but Southend has been a city now since 1st March 2022.Hello @statto_smfc We don't drink that muck in this town, you'll need to stop off in Basildon to drink that peewater.
Thanks, Crowstone.Went to Porters many years ago. It was very much 'a local pub for local people' back then (everything stopped when you walked in). Beer was nothing special - no draft ales. But then as I say that was many years ago might be different now.
It looks like the sort of place that would have McEwans or Tennants on draught which coupled with the utterly charmless exterior is why I have avoided the place.Went to Porters many years ago. Anywhere is better than the blue boar. It’s a shame the other pun got taken over, even for of a shame that it changed so you couldn’t do a circle lap through the toilets anymore. Pubs are trash near the ground. Cricketers is my go to pub before the game. Cross the road for some nice fish and chips then walk to the ground nicely full with the adequate amount of booze in the system to cheer on the lads at full throttle.
Most random pub ever, looks like it should be someone's front room!Just become aware of a pub called Porters not far from the eastern side of Chalkwell Park in Westborough Road. I see it sells beers from the LOS Brewery (from a FB friend's post). Can any 'Zoners tell me their experience of it, please? Looks like it could be worth a visit.
The mile and a third is the place to go Rob (as we did last year) will be there on Saturday before migrating to see Barna at the Hamlet.Just become aware of a pub called Porters not far from the eastern side of Chalkwell Park in Westborough Road. Porters does not sound exciting from the entry in WhatPub and says it does not open until 2pm. If you are near Westborough - the West Street tap is the place to beThe mile and a third is the place to go Rob (as we did last year) will be there on Saturday before migrating to see Barna at the Hamlet.

Yeah agreed, this is a great shout. A few pubs you can stop at en route to the Hall too afterwards, like the aforementioned West Road Tap (if open) or the Cricketers which always has a good amount of Southend fans in it on matchdays. The mile and a third is the place to go Rob (as we did last year) will be there on Saturday before migrating to see Barna at the Hamlet.

What happened to draught Blue Nun?!Or LCL Pils
Bloody hell that's Bud Light!Off licence near me in Leigh sells it, now in a blue can!. Strength 5%, brought a few but nothing special imo. £1 per 500ml can.
Guess you'll only know the answer to that, when they've been in there for 15 mins or so?.Railway will take away fans if well behaved![]()
Never heard of it, but if it sells LOS brewery beers then it has got something good already. Regularly drink in the Legra Tap, owned by the brewery and they always have a decent selection of ales on tap.Just become aware of a pub called Porters not far from the eastern side of Chalkwell Park in Westborough Road. I used to do a seafood service on a Fri & Sat night in late 90's, calling in many pubs. I ventured there twice on Sat nights, both times about 4 individuals in there.Never heard of it, but if it sells LOS brewery beers then it has got something good already.
