Wembley tickets

I note the shares I bought from the Ron Martin days do not put us to the front of the queue for tickets either.

Has that rendered them now pointless?

Shouldn't do. In some liaison meeting minutes after Charlton game the club declared it was an oversight that shareholder priority was not given.

Rochdale tickets again and oversight solved by the club calling me to sell a ticket during the priority window.

Didn't try for FGR.

Tom's email is Tom.Lawrence@southend-united.co.uk if you'd like to check/complain about another oversight

This was an offer made by the previous owners. Did anyone ever buy a ticket using these shares in a priority queue?

IF COSU decided to remove this they would likely need to go through a formal process. Here’s how they could approach it:

Review Existing Agreements – If the priority ticket offer was legally binding, they would need to assess whether it was part of a shareholder agreement or club policy.

Amend Shareholder Terms – If the offer was tied to shares, they could propose amendments to the terms of shareholding, possibly requiring approval from shareholders.

Communication with Shareholders – Transparency would be key. The club might issue a statement explaining the reasons for the change and any alternative benefits for shareholders.

Board Approval – The decision might need formal approval from directors.

Implementation – Once approved, the club would update policies and notify affected shareholders.

The percentage of shareholders required to approve changes depends on the club’s corporate structure and shareholder agreements. Southend United operates as a private limited company so typically require a special resolution, which means at least 75% of shareholders must vote in favor.

As COSU holds around 95% of the shares I'd say this agreement could be removed (Unless already removed by Ron and just not communicated)

In a WhatsApp group with about 20 die hard fans. Half are seasos, half aren't due to location, finances etc. But all are Southend through and through.

Every season ticket holder is buying the maximum possible to sort the others out as well as kids etc. Based on this, small sample admittedly, not many will go to general sale.
If I cannot get any in the general sale, given that i am now committed to fly in to the UK that weekend, I would hope to get 2 tickets, the coach from Essex is not really an option as I would not be able to get a train on the Sunday to get to RH in order to get the coach to go back to Central London. Never gave a thought this ticket restriction was remotely likely.

And just like that the excitement goes. I wasn’t able to purchase a season ticket this season due to work commitments. But still managed to squeeze a load of games in. Spent the last few days arranging days off work and sorting child care for the little ones who aren’t old enough for a day like this yet. Got to wait until 1pm Sunday to see if any tickets are left and only after 2.

Done and posted separately trying to get a few folks with a decent audience to chip in.

The two key things to getting this lifted is a LOT of noise from all angles in the next 24h, and selling out the allocation we have so they can plainly see fans are being turned away.
I think the initial allocation will absolutely fly.

Truly embarrassing situation.

Yes I've used priority shareholder rights to obtain tickets several times - most recently Rochdale away.

It's on record from a liaison meeting around the time of the Charlton game that the absence of shareholder priority for that game was an oversight.

All shareholders are owners, Ron was a majority shareholder as are COSU.

There has been no communication on withdrawal of the rights.

I really hope you and people like you get the tickets required it really is all to much for both sets of fans, scandalous.

Gonna end up with more day trippers than southend fans there. If a season ticket holder each gets the maximum 4 tickets and 3 support some **** like West Ham then there will only be around 5000 max proper fans in the 19000. Fans missing out could have potentially been to 30 odd games this season home and away but will miss out. What a terrible situation all round.

Wet Spams ground would be easier than Spurs to get to and Stratford is so well connected that travel would work for both sets of fans. 62,500 not ideal but better than Wembley under current restrictions. Though I appreciate Oldham fans might not have taken too kindly (same as Old Trafford on the flip side.)

Cardiff would be the best reasonable alternative for both teams though realistically a change of venue cannot happen at such short notice.

Our only hope is lobbying and common sense from the Met. If Old Trafford can get 80K match day with its relativity poor connections it IS possible. I’ve been there for a cup semi.
Indeed if it were at West Ham there would really be no need for tube at all or even TFL as Greater Anglia to Stratford job done
