Time

Horizon is on TV at the moment discussing "Time..I am finding their views quiet Bizarre..They are of course being relative to our World, but time as an issue is just something we created to tell the Day from Night and to bring a system to peoples lives....Time per sa overall IMO does not exist there is no beginning or no end..there is no difference between day and night, just the fact it gets dark or light at certain "times"!....Our body maybe needs rest but our Brain is 24/7 and never stops...

It is odd that we seem to have fallen into this pattern of belief, but I guess we seem to believe most these days and forget who we actually are.

I studied Physics with Professor Brian Cox at Manchester University who as an undergraduate was in the same year as me.

I wish I had tried a bit harder now because I could have been the Jamie Oliver of physics and maybe had a nice little gig on Tomorrows world.

Without time we would not have acceleration
Without Acceleration there would not be gravity
Without gravity we would all just float into space
It is time which keeps our feet on the ground

Is it just time or is it "Spacetime". Time is quite possibly another dimension in the fabric of space meaning it is just as liable to manipulation from outside forces as the other 3 dimensions and not a constant. Therefore our perception of time is only as we see it from our perspective not as it truly is

I dunno ? my watch has stopped

Time is something measured in the mind, it is a human conception. Unless Physics can prove otherwise??

The second is defined as the duration of 9,192,631,770 cycles of radiation corresponding to the transition between two energy levels of the ground state of the cesium-133 atom.

You've made a huge assumption about the temperature of the ceasium atom there! Schoolboy error.

Also, gravitational time dilation - the effect of time passing at different rates in regions of different gravitational potential; the higher the local distortion of spacetime due to gravity, the slower time passes. Albert Einstein originally predicted this effect in his theory of relativity and it has since been confirmed by tests of general relativity. This has been demonstrated by noting that atomic clocks at differing altitudes (and thus different gravitational potential) will eventually show different times. The effects detected in such experiments are extremely small, with differences being measured in nanoseconds.

In Hindi, the same word, kal, means yesterday and tomorrow.

The future and past do not exist, but in the mind there is expectation of the future and remembrance of the past. The present has no duration and still the mind's attention persists. So it is not the future which is long but a long expectation of the future. Likewise, it is not the past that was long but a long remembrance of the past.

You cannot touch gravitation as you can material objects, yet gravitation is physical because it makes an object, which is released in the middle of space fall! The effect of gravitation is action, as such gravitation is physical, yet Time is not.

Similarly even though you cannot grab them with your hands, light rays are physical because they have an effect on matter. Light rays from the sun heat up our skin.
Both gravitation and light rays, even though non material, are physical and do exist or occur in reality because they act on matter, Yet time does not.

To be honest it is a bit of a daft question....the concept of the passing of what we label as time clearly happens, whether it is manifested in growth or evolution.

This is a bit like asking the "Does a tree make a noise" question
