the new Isis album is superb:

In the Absence of Truth

maybe their best one! check it out if you are into your metal, heavy/post rock or just interested... probably most similar to tool but better IMO

If you are into this kinda stuff, may I recommend The Ocean, a German band from Berlin who are like ISIS buut heavier. Maybe think of ISIS crossed with Cult of Luna or something.

I saw them live a few weeks ago up in London and they are definitely worth checking out. "Fluxion" is a better album than their latest one "Aeolian" in my opinion, but both are pretty good investments.

Yep, Pelican are a lot like Isis - if you like one, you'll almost certainly like the other. You should also check out Tone and Red Sparowes (both on the Neurot label).

Khoma - Second Wave isn't a bad album.

Has anyone heard much by Midlake?

Yeah i've used it before.

I've never heard Isis before, they are one of those bands I've always meant to check out so I'm gonna try and download a track now!
