We don't need an attacking midfielder in this formation - his job is to win the ball and get the ball out wide...it was the crosses that let us down last night...and its frustrating when they had 10 behind the ball, which always means it looks like we are passing sideways as we are looking for space to break them down.Did you go last night?
We sat with a perfect view of Neal and the people in front, behind and to the left and right groaned every time Neal got the ball. Not once did he do anything positive with it.
Any of those from your list could have played his game but slightly more forward thinking. If Maher insists on playing Atkinson then he needs to find an attacking midfielder to create something…..Neal is not the answer going by last nights very negative contribution!
Aldershot made the game boring - I don't think you can blame our players for that (oh and before you say, yes I did go!)
