Lot And His Daughters by Lucas Van Leyden.

Loved by dramatic artist Antonin Artaud- known for his organised chaos theory.

Artuad was said to be facinated with this picture and regularly went to view it.

Just to give you an idea (if you don't know much about the man) of what the guy was like, here is one of his plays, Jet Of Blood.

Very very strange.

Genius or crackhead?
 
Don't see what point you're making here, hadn't seen the picture before but can see it's appeal as there's quite a lot going on in it. You can make the genius or crackhead theory apply to millions of artists though.

For the record, this is one of my favourite paintings - Metamorphosis of Narcisse by Dali

Before my time you see? At least my Dali wasn't on there, but on the whole I'm quite staggered that most of my other favourites are pretty much in line with MtS, although one I was surprised to see omitted was the Raft of the Medusa
