Whilst not a fan of LOG Im surprised it is taking a heavier beating against MBB then My Family is against the Office!

What is the heaviest defeat in one of these polls?

Men Behaving Badly was a mainstream hit, appearing on both ITV and BBC One, getting very high viewing figures. Even today it's repeated regularly on one digital channel or other and it's sold a lot of DVDs.

League of Gentlemen was very much a cult show which never did great numbers and which a decent proportion of the country have never heard of, let alone seen.

I'll be a recurring theme in this...

In fact thinking about it, My Family is probably at least as well watched as The Office was. It certainly got far bigger viewing figures in it's prime time BBC One slot so it's probably not a surprise that it's doing slightly better than LoG is.

That would definitely be the case. Awful thought it is, it's got a good pre-watershed evening slot on BBC1. I reckon it'd have an average audience double that of the office.

My teenage kids both also like My Family but don't watch the Office - and that's nothing to do with me - they have their own tvs, and will often channel hop and pick an old episode of My Family over other things. Think it's a lot to do with Robert Lindsay actually, he plays the character quite similarly to the way he used to play Wolfie in Citizen Smith.

Wolfie Smith would never have stood for crap like My Family had the Tooting Revolution actually taken off...

I don't think Men Behaving Badly has dated that badly. The ITV years don't hold up well but they never did really.

Yeah I agree.

Been watching it again recently a lot (due to only having a video player in my bedroom and about 4 videos left) and series 4 and 5 are all superb. Tony getting glasses, the camping weekend, the episode purely based in the pub, the student / clubbing affair, the men refusing to grow up and love in with their girlfriends... All themes that are just as relevant now, and helped by 3 out of the 4 cast members being great comedy performers.

Whereas "My family"...

Tough, tough draw. Why couldn't one of these be drawn against Dinnerladies or the Vicar Of TwibblyDibblyDoo?

Series 1&2 of League of Gentleman was brilliant - original and damn funny. Trouble is series 3 onwards was very ordinary, as was the film and the live show I went to.

MBB wasn't groundbreaking or original in anyway - but it was still a must see.

I flipped a coin and went with LOG, though it looks like it isn't going to matter! Oh well at least My Family is going out :D

Gonna be having serious words with you if you keep bad mouthing my two choices young Paul!

I'm glad to see the competition has finally taken off ... to say i had the day from hell is an understatement

Although i'm not able to vote of this unless its a draw (which it won't be !!!) i'd just like to mention that as much as i like LOG, MBB was a definate "must see" programme in my house ... Gary and Tonys "bloke space" and "lager time" were stuff of legends, and from one of their late night drink filled chats emerged the all time classic

"If God had meant us to stay with one bird he wouldn't have invented other birds" .. priceless !!!! :D

I'm fairly happy with such a convincing lead (would say victory, but should never speak too soon) in the first heat. 52 votes in only 7 hours. As long as this evenings voters haven't been out getting sloshed all day then it's a safe passage into Round Two. I notice even the winner of the beers tournament didn't get 52 votes....

However, I'm in the states for the next round (and possibly the round after that depending on how long these things happen) so I'm just going to have to hope common sense prevails. I'll only be satisfied if MBB goes out to Only Fools & Horses. It's the only genuine contender on my route to the final. If MBB goes out to pish like Dinnerladies, Absolutely Fabulous or Vicar of Tibbly then I might just have to jump off the Empire State Building when the news filters through.... :dizzy:

I never really got into League of Gentlemen. Was never my thing. Men behaving badly really struck a chord with me. Especially these days sharing a flat with a bloke who is the 21st century Gary! So MBB it is
