Was sat in the South Upper today (allegedly on duty) when a tribe of podgy spammers sat 2 rows in front of us and did nothing but slate of our club from the toilets, the view, the team and eventually our very own Ben as he ran over to the West to treat one of ours. After very loudly saying "pot & black" loudly enough for them to hear it went quiet for a while, then the glorious moment in the dying moments of the game, a clash of heads 2 players down one from each side , the ref blows for the trainers as the 2 players lie motionless on the pitch, then Ben "usain" Clarkson out-sprints their own "fitter" trainer leaving him in his wake ( and with the water on the pitch today there was a wake ) I did not hold back verbally in my delight, the look on their faces...... Priceless.

Ben you made the sun shine for me on a wet day.:Worthy:

Indeed the sprinting prowess of Mr Clarkson did not go un-noticed. This confirms that he favours the heavy ground & I am curious as to how would perform either over the sticks or with the blinkers.

Was a very funny moment, albeit the seriousness of the clash kind of ruined the pleasure. Hope the young lad Potts is ok.

Latest from the Wet Spam site on Potts..

Dan Potts has been discharged from hospital after suffering mild concussion in a clash of heads at Southend United on Saturday.
The youngster was stretchered off in a neck brace and wearing an oxygen mask after being hurt in a collision with Shrimpers defender Mark Phillips late in West Ham United's 3-0 pre-season victory.
There was understandable concern for Potts' welfare as he was knocked unconscious for a short period. He was tended to by the club's medical staff and paramedics, but thankfully the 18-year-old was soon up and about and able to have a shower in the away dressing room at Roots Hall.
The left-back, who was voted Man of the Match, was taken to hospital for a precautionary scan and remained in overnight for observation before being allowed to go home on Sunday.
Potts has confirmed on social networking website twitter that he is on the mend and thanked his fans and followers for their concern and support over the past 24 hours.
"Was discharged from hospital earlier this morning. Scan and results were all OK just suffered mild concussion. Thnx again 4 all the support!" he tweeted.

Yep, can confirm as much from the paramedics who attended to him. He was unconscious for a while on the pitch, but walked to a car that took him to hospital where he stayed in overnight as a precaution.

Our very own B.C.'s unbeaten in a one to one on the pitch sprint against an opposition sponge man by all accounts.

Versatile Ben looked to be doing very well selling raffel tickets at today's MTBD too.
