Best Southend XI ever - Right Midfield

Not sure this is still open but surely Jonathon Hunt. In my 24 years, the 2nd best right sided player I have seen behind Ansah. Class player and played a key role in the exciting Fry team.

Good player undoubtedly, but would probably struggle to get many votes because of the Judas factor. I still remember when he returned to Roots Hall with Derby in the League Cup. Chris Powell took the time to applaud the fans and had the gesture returned aplenty. Hunt looked over and thought "I fancy a bit of that", but didn't receive quite the same outpouring of respect.

Paul Byrne is another player who might garner a few votes if he hadn't subsequently blotted his copybook, in his case by finding the key to the pie cupboard and losing his work ethic.

Hmm... I'm a bit confused about how we classify:

Spud
Marky G
Bentley

Spud was a left-footed player who, I think, joined us as a left-winger but often used to play right wing, cutting inside a la Messi.

Marky G was a right-footed player who, I think, joined us as a right-winger but often used to play left wing, cutting inside a la Leonardo (think Brazil 94) or Trevor Sinclair.

Benno was a centre-mid who often got stuck out wide right.

Which, if any of them, can I put forward for this poll?

Matt

I've already put forward Benno, and Taylor's nominated as well. So Marky G

ps Marky G was given freedom to roam by Tilly, depending on who the opposition were.
