Broadband speeds - What's yours?

now this made me remember discussion I had with them some years ago. Basically if the fault was in my house they would charge me. After I protested about this as how could I tell if the fault was at their end or mine as I wasn't a telephone engineer, they said "have you got a screwdriver". After the inevitable discussion that I didn't have one on me but I had one in the shed I was told to unscrew the box the telephone wire was in and put it directly in to the socket behind. For some reason quite beyond me this should tell you if it's an outside fault or not. i.e. if there was still a fault it was likely their end.

So the BT engineer has been. Checked the exchange and all was good. Came into the house, checked a couple of things. Changed our old socket as it looks like it's been there since the house was built. Gave me a new ADSL cable and I'm now up to 33mbps. No charge either

Vodafone Gigafast ?

Got this installed last year and apart from an unfortunate incident involving a skip delivery truck snapping the fibre line from the telegraph pole (Vodafone got it repaired in less than a week) it's been brilliant.

I backed out of my switch/change of provider (8th February) because Vodafone wanted the landline as well as the broadband/internet
