Yes, back page of the echo mentions Turner, implies Kightly ("a winger"), a central midfielder plus a couple of other players in areas we need to strengthen.

Seems to suggest Turner, Kightly + 3 more!

So much for the doom and gloom of a couple of weeks ago, things are really starting to shape up nicely now.

There was really no basis for any doom and gloom. Things always pick up at this time of year, once the 30th June passes and clubs get back to work. Prior to that, the whole industry is pretty much on holiday.

Every season we get it. We had people flapping in May, its ridiculous.

If we go into August with no signings thats something to be worried about.

For all the moaning people did about Brown not getting his transfer business in early, he's come up trumps again. Hendrie, Turner and Kightly are three really top signings at this level and not ones I would have never expected us to have a chance with. We did the same last season with Cox and Ferdinand too. I've previously been in the Brown out camp once upon a time, but I think he's now earned the right to not be questioned. He's proven he's a very good manager and anyone who says that players don't want to play for him only need to look at how many ex-players come back to play for him. Numerous loanees have come back, as did Atkinson, Turner and Hendrie.

Really looking forward to the new season. Two or three more signings and we're in very good shape. Still think we need a couple of centre backs (or at least one more if Brown is intending to use White there) and an attacking midfielder to provide competition to Wordsworth. Interesting that it's all gone quiet with Bridge leaving too. If he has a good pre-season and can be a credible understudy to Wordsworth, then we're only one, maybe two signings away from having an incredibly strong squad with plenty of depth.

Without a doubt I think the people we are bring in is making more good players serious about talking to us- they see Brown here, they see Cox, Ferdinand, MAF- they see who we have brought in this season and think these guys are serious and need to be taken seriously- so now all of a sudden as PB says people want to talk to us and he is getting very positive.

A couple more quality signings and that team is looking very strong- not only that full of skill and people who want to play good football- not a hoofer in sight..

It is quite clear that they are running scared.

I've heard from a pretty reliable source that Juventus also turned down a friendly at Boots & Laces for fear of getting their hides well and truly tanned.
