C2C Advice

Davros

The Whippet
I bought my new season ticket last tuesday (£3264) and paid by debit card.

It initially declined using Chip and pin (cos it was such a large amount), so they had to phone up for authorisation (which was given) etc, and do my card the old fashioned way.

Anyway, one week later, and looking at my e-banking, they havent put the transaction through yet, i dont mean as cleared, its not even been taken off my available balance amount, so its defintaly not been banked yet. I phoned the bank to confirm this, and they said authorisation was given, but they havent attempted to take the money yet.

first question...

a) has anyone else had this problem, and how long did C2C take to collect the money..

b) how long legally do i have to wait, until i can go and blow the lot on a huge f**king TV!!

a) no
b) do it now, I'm sure they've totally forgotten and will never follow it up....

I've waited in the past for a month to go before they take it.

i dont mind so much, as i cant remember the last time i spent a month without going into my overdraft!

however, there is this little part of me that thinks.. wouldnt it be great if they lost the bit of paper and i have 3 grand to blow!

This happened to me last year and they cancelled my season ticket because I had blown the money on a load of Franklin mint collectables.

Desperate and unable to get to work I came up with the idea of fashioning a homemade C2C uniform so I could travel for free.

This worked like a treat for a couple of weeks until being exposed as an imposter when I provided the correct answer to a passenger who asked me what time the next train was.

Well i was in an identical predicament where i had paid, i had recieved my recipt AND i had the item and it is still working perfectly fine.

The only thing is i have never to this day had the money taken out. It cost me £270 :D

The problem is that it is down to the company to take the amount. You know it will be taken, when is another matter.

I really wouldn't get your hopes up or go out and blow the lot.

I have seen some companies take amounts 3 months after the transaction date. As a result, because the amount was negligible, clients think it is fraud as they do not remember!

No chance of you claiming or getting round this in any way Davey Boy!

i wouldnt really blow it, its a loan anyway, so would pay that back and be £280 a month better off..

however, i was just wondering if there was a maximum time they had to take it? by law

One year if it's by switch Davros, same thing happend to my sister in law when she bought a kitchen. Her bank said they had a year to take the money and after that they can't claim (phone your bank and confirm).

But, as others have said, C2C are slow taking money so it'll probably come out soon!

3200 quid for a years worth of pure misery and balls up, its one of the reasons I dont miss working in the city too much. Absolute liberty and total robbery in my book.

Anyway if I were you I would buy a monthly ticket from say Leigh to Chalkwell (depending on where you live) and then Limehouse to Fenchurch which basically gets you through the barriers. The Hectos are never on the trains anyway and if they are just say you cant find your ticket. Worked for me for 5 years and only got busted once resulting in a 20 quid fine so worked out I saved about 10K. Before any of you go on bout its people like me trhat are making the fares high, this is a load of bollocks and merely an excuse for a shower of **** to charge stupid prices for a poxy unreliable service which only creates high blood pressure and missed meetings for its customers.
