Dadzone

Thanks - the midwife's come and gone now, and everything seems to be a bit better today.

Yes, thrush in the mouth - but the nystatin seems to be calming things down for the moment

I bet that's quite painful for her (plus tricky for you 2 to cope with).
Still, good she's a bit better after the midwife's been!

There are some good parenting forums if you have questions like this & need a quick answer (e.g. Bounty.com), the wife swears by them!

Hi chaps,
just found Dadzone.....great stuff. My son is 18months old (already had two Southend kits!) Bit worried at the mo' as there seems to be a spate of chicken pox sweeping through the nurseys up here. Just wondered if anyone knows what signs to look for before the obvious spots. Cheers.

Early signs can be fever, high temperature, sickness. It is the Chicken Pox 'season' at the moment. From what I can remember from when my children had it, you get one main spot and it spreads from there very quickly all over the body even sometimes in the mouth, eyes, back passage etc.

Nothing to be worried about and it's probably best to get it out of the way at an early age.

yep i know two little kids with them at the moment... that fact sheet looks spot on smiffy!

A chickenpox outbreak is currently doing the rounds at my boys nursery, just waiting for the inevitable...

This should be of use mate.

Thanks very much gents, thats all good info. Judging by what I've read seems little chap might be in the early stages. Best to get it over and done with though i guess. Thanks again.

New addition to the clan. We had our 2nd child yesterday, a boy born at 11:50 weighing in at 8lbs 9oz.

With a little girl was wondering whether I was destined to live in a household of women but am delighted to have someone to hopefully share an interest in football and guy stuff!

PS Chicken pox is definitely good to get at an early age, my daughter had it about 6 months ago and apart from an itchy head she really didnt suffer. When I got it aged about 8 or so I remember it being awful.

Many Congrats! yet another Mini Shrimper to add to our ever growing fanbase! Seeing your son for the first time has got to be the proudest moment in any mans life. All the best to yourself and your family mate. :)

Cheers.

Named him Evan.

He has had to go back in to hospital today as he has jaundice. Nothing to worry about, just needs to spend some time under a lamp and should be back tomorrow. He just looks like he has a fantastic tan at the moment!

Shall be visiting the club shop for some SUFC sleepsuits tomorrow :)

Ive been really lucky, didnt want a boy first time and got a girl, and this time did actually want a boy and got one. So nice having one of each, and after all on top of having football boys have far cooler toys !

still have to go to doctor for the 100% but fingers crossed eh maybe just what I need to get out of the dark and into the light

So what's the verdict then TB? No need for a trip to the docs, pregnancy tests these days are 99% accurate so a couple of those and you know it's on! Presume you've already had a positive test?
