Really odd this. Not even the pull of a big club as such. If Alty had stayed part time it would have been understandable. Thought he’d have stayed with us next season if Southend was the only offer on the table and waited for something better. Moving on it’s probably best we concentrate on those committed to the cause. Thanks Dan for your time with us. He is a loss but we’ve secured several vital players so far so not the end of the world.

This was the signing I eluded to that would be completed last week. He has been signed for a couple of days fully, so I’m glad it’s out in the open now.

If I find out he signed on Monday, I will be royally bloody miffed.

It's not that long ago we were still playing in League One, where we have spent a fair chunk of this club's history. We deserve to be where we are now, but we also have a big shot at a return.

Sorry Alty but it's something they can only dream of currently. Meanwhile this club with the right turnaround shall hopefully be making it back to the EFL soon enough.

I actually don't care what opposition fans think of us. The important thing is that Mooney and Miley want to play a part in our blueprint for next season. Nothing is certain but this coming campaign could be a very happy one for us all, and why not after the bollox we have put up with for years.

One thing is definitely for certain, when it comes to being the top dogs of National League Football fans forums then ShrimperZone is up there as a best in class example. so maybe both our new signings had a look at the Zone and thought 'Yep, that will do for me'.
