De La Soulā€™s Trugoy dies at 54

Sad news, one of my fave Hip Hop artists from BITD

Yes very sad. I knew he had heart issues, but still v unexpected.

The very first concert I went to was the launch of De La Soul is Dead - back in 91. Support acts: MC Merlin, PM Dawn and Tribe Called Quest. I saw De La a few times since then, at the Astoria in 2002, and the Essential Festival in 2001 (Biz Markie stole the show, naturally) https://www.efestivals.co.uk/festivals/essentialfestivals/2001/lineup.shtml

Ah man, loved their samples, their message, their positivity. Its a shame that Dave never got to see their music streamed properly.

Not famous per se, but Duangpetch Promthep, one of the 12 boys who was rescued from that infamous Thai cave has died, just 18 from a unspecified head injury while studying in the UK.
