Do you like your job?

Got to say I largely love my work.

I get a real buzz doing it. Money is good and its really nice building a relationship up with customers and doing there mortgages over a period of years.

Love the fact I dont have to answer to anyone and love the fact that if I put extra hours in it directly affects what I earn.

Short of playing for the Blues or being a porn actor (straight films only) I cant think of anything else I would rather do.

I think I must be in the minority of people that DO actually enjoy their work. Ok it is hard, demanding, stressful and very unpredictable and the pay does not reflect the work I do or the responsibility I have for other people but, sometimes it is not always about money. As I have grown older I realise satisfaction and enjoyment has to be a major factor because you spend quite a few hours of the day working and also if you are unhappy at work this can roll over into your personel/home life. I am lucky in the sense that I do not have any financial worries, the mortgage is almost payed off, have a new car every 3 years and anything I want I buy.

In the main I quite enjoy my job, although our business becomes more cut throat by the day. However I have made some lifelong friends through work, it has also given me the chance to indulge in one of my passions which is travel, and as I am largely my own boss that is also a big help.

Well after spending most of my working life flogging my guts and missing both my kids grow up (out at 630 am home at 8pm on a good night) i've landed a job with better basic (lower bonuses) where my role is to spend as little time as poss in the office and more on the golf course, bar, rugby, footie etc etc. Work life balance is awesome. Currently in the office at 830 and usually first in, leave around 6 and last out but can come/go when i please

Parts of my job are interesting and I am only contracted to work 35 hours a week with six weeks annual leave.

Unfortunately I work with mature products and technology which is holding me back and it is time for a change.

I am gearing up for a move to one of the large investment banks or possibly a hedge fund. I can realisticly look at earning 30%-75% more than I do at the moment but naturally they will want their pound of flesh.

I'm going to Kenya for 7 weeks on sunday, and the British taxpayer is paying me to go. I can't argue with that.

I really enjoy one of my jobs, and am getting to the part where the other one is going to become both enjoyable and lucrative. Hurrah. :)

i like my Job... i'd prefere if my part time job was my real job... maybe one day hey!
