Essex Essex Essex!

I think you boys have answered your own questions as regards Col U and attendances etc

My gripe with the new stadium is a 10K capacity due to go up to 17K at a later date.
You could argue that we only get 3K or so now but we have had much bigger attendances in the past, I have stood in the same stadium amidst 18K fans but that was back in the 60's.
We now have a crowd limit of 6100 which is a joke because you can certainly get more that that in there in my opinion.
I think like many other clubs there will be a big surge in attendances when we get the new ground and when we play teams such as Southend a 10k capacity may not be enough.
If we achieve a miracle and go up at some stage, many away teams could easily bring 3k fans or more given the chance.
Anyway lets see the 1st stage take place, if and when that happens you can look forward to visiting us in a bit more comfort, with bars and even undersoil heating available

The downside is it will be all seater, an atmosphere killer if ever there was one

Quote[/b] (SUBBlue @ Jan. 03 2006,22:58)]Just what is Col U average attendance?
Col******r United average is 3,374 or 44.6% of capacity.

The Shrimpers are currently averaging 7,160 (57.7%).
That is truly disgusting. I wonder if they have always been that poorly supported?

Financially speaking they must be in a shocking state.
I know we don't exactly "coin it in" over the turnstiles but their Chairman must be pretty loaded. Either that or they are paying their players cack wages...
Far from it mate we are one of the most financially sound clubs in the league.
We do not pay anything to agents for a start, if one of those sharks gets involved Phil Parkinson pulls the plug on the deal.
The 2 million plus we got for Lua Lua is still sitting in the bank to help pay for the new stadium, Phil P has worked wonders in the transfer/loan market and has found some real gems for very little money.
Our chairman is a wealthy man but not mega rich, he is very shrewd though and runs a very tight ship financially.
I suspect the wage structure will not be broken even for Jamie Cureton, so even if Swindon let him go, he will have to take a large pay cut to come to Col******r.

If that's fact, then fair play to you me ol' carrot cruncher.
There's far too many clubs overextending themselves & getting in deep do-do.

Although I detest Col Ewe with every fibre of my being, it has to be said your manager has a fair eye for a decent player..

Not only that, a fair gob on him for getting them to sign for us.

Second Barside Edd's comments, we don't pull in much money but we're safe as houses. For a "financially shocking state" please see the tractor boys up the A12.
