So this time next year I'll be a married man (Sorry ladies)

I am now turning my attentions to Honeymoon destinations. We are both quite set on the Caribbean (St Lucia/Dom Rep/Barbados/Turks & Caicos etc) or Indian Ocean (Seychelles/Mauritius/Sri Lanka etc) as neither of us have been there and we fancy something quite luxurious and exotic.

Now we already have a 5 year old (No sex before marriage my arse!) so the resort needs to be child friendly, with plenty for the nipper to do. Waterslides and plenty of pools, playground, kids club etc would be good.

The only ones that have popped up so far are Beaches resorts (very pricey) and a couple of others that don't look to hot in terms of food/rooms/location etc.

Is it really that hard to find a luxurious exotic resort that gives us the treatment we want on a honeymoon, plus really caters for children, without having to rob a bank to pay for it?

Your suggestions would be most welcome...

Cruise - honestly. we did this for our honeymoon, kids have their own kids club (with playstations, dvds, outdoor toys, their own swimming pool) and you will be treated as you should be.

It is a consideration mate, but we both prefer staying on dry land to be honest.

TBH Lee mate there are some fantastic resorts in Kenya on Mombassa beach which are very child friendly, although at this time of year the rains are just going. I would look at the USA for all you need ....This hotel and all the attractions that are near by for the young one would suit you all....http://www.clearwaterbeachresort.com/..It combines luxury with the added bonus of being able to take your son to Disney/universal/sea world etc within an hours drive. Most over the top luxury resorts are designed for couples on their Honeymoon...fair play to you mate for taking your son.

Damn you Swiss .:D

Cannot agree more, we have done 2 Caribbean cruises now and have enjoyed both. On both occasions the ship had brilliant child care. Problem with going to small islands is that quite often services are limited.
Lee, grab me at football next and will explain all about cruises and they are reasonably prices atm

Agree with above - we tend to do med cruises / canaries because of this.

Yes but you go on the over 60's wild vacations.com Jackie.:smiles:

You saucy git, I have done my time on club 18-30 holidays. These days I like comfort and service and find cruising ticks all the boxes for me and you get to travel to some great places

They do indeed Kay, in fact one was in port with us this year trouble was it was full of kids, now I dont mind a few of them but hundreds of them is a different matter and they are not cheap.
Lol, don't ask don't get Kay

Hey dont knock it till you have tried it :) My last cruise around the Med in June this year was wonderful. Full service even to the point of having the bed turned down for you everynight and chocs left on a pillow, the cabin maid even picks up your clothes and hangs them back up for you. The ship had 13 bars, 1 cinema, gym, 4 restaraunts (1 of which was open 24hrs), shops, casino.
Shame you couldn't come with us Cricko, there were a few single ladies on the ship - you could have found yourself a playmate

I don't have a spouse that works his socks off 28 hours a day to keep you in your life of luxury.....Tony my heart bleeds for you mate.:Worthy:

Hey, i have my own money.

Seriously, Lee you should think of a cruise and never pay the advertised price if you are prepared to do a little homework and barter with some of the companies then you can get a good deal

I recommend www.cruisecritic.co.uk for advice on cruises. We always use bolsover cruise club who do the haggling on our behalf.

Cricko - you'd fit in with some of the old birds on there.

Basically, he's said he wants the Caribbean or Indian Ocean but not cruises. In the Caribbean, Sandals (Adults Only) and Beaches are the same company. They seem to have the monopoly on the pick of the locations and best beaches out there. Very pricy all-inclusives, but with a non tipping policy, absolutely brilliant if you can afford it. They tend to get quite a few cancellations or sometimes a room not booked, so you can get a cheap last minute deal. If going to the Caribbean, research the Hurricane season, as we caught the tail end of one, and lost Two days. In fact, they have a bad hurricane out there right now. America are worried it may be heading for them.
