Luis Enrique appointed the new manager of Spain. His first game in charge will be against England in September.

Got to Leganes’ 3-0 friendly win over Rayo Majadahonda today.

Should be an interesting season, Atletico look very strong whilst Real Madrid haven’t replaced Ronaldo and have a new coach, with Barcelona being Barcelona as well.

See Espanyol managed to beat Burnley away 0-2 in a lunchtime friendly earlier, :Thumbs up:
(while Fulham could only get a 2-2 draw against Celta yesterday).

All kicks off again tonight.

Hoping to get to Rayo vs Sevilla on Sunday, though typically for Spain, tickets don't go on sale until Saturday at 11am and only at the ticket office. If that doesn't go to plan, may be tempted by Real Madrid vs Getafe to kick the season off.

Looks like the Spanish FA are going to step in and veto this La Liga match in the US, thank goodness.

Saw something in El Pais last week to the effect that Girona supporters were very unhappy about the various ticket deals being offered to them. Can't say I blame them myself.Always enjoy Barça's visits to Espanyol.

Saw Espanyol win 1-0 against Levante last Sunday.Promising start to the season at home, after a win in their first outing to Valencia.Let's see what happens against Eibar next Tuesday.

Saw Espanyol beat Eibar 1-0 at Cornellà yesterday.Three home games now and three wins.Up to 4th place in La Liga. What could possinbly go wrong? An way game to Rayo Vallecarno on Friday that's what.Espanyol's poor away form over the last couple of seasons has really been their achillies' heel.

Not very often that the big boys in Spanish football both get beaten on the same day.Chapeau to Leganes and Sevilla.:Highfive:
Was at the Leganes game last night and had a brilliant atmosphere as you may expect.

May (Rayo's useless ticketing system dependent) make it Rayo vs Espanyol on Friday and then already have a ticket for the Madrid derby on Saturday an intense weekend of footballing action ahead for me, topped off by iFollowing the Blues of course.

No sure if they will break into the top 6, but they have definitely broken into the top 5.

Espanyol up to the heady heights of second with a great away win at the weekend.Presumably normal service will be resumed shortly. especially with 2 more away games coming up in short order.
