We are going to have to play a team like Barnsley sooner or later if we are going to win the FA Cup.

These early rounds we either get a team we are in the same league with or a dull tie against a team lower than us.

We have had a few days out in recent years, Yeovil, Millwall and Scunthorpe.....I didn't enjoy any of them.

I prefer playing sides we don't play in the same division as in these Cups as it gets a bit stale seeing the same team 3/4 times a season.

It's hardly unreasonable to not want to be drawn against the team that beat you in your last league match.

SOUTHEND United will host Barnsley in the second round of the FA Cup if they win their first round replay against Crawley Town next Tuesday.

Yes, boring.Funnily enough people would rather avoid one of the best teams in the draw that we lost to just last week. A non league team away would have been nice, can’t recall us getting one since Telford around 10 years ago.

In some ways it's better we play a tough nut that dispels any complacency rather than get embarrassed by the likes of Maidstone.
