Gatley v ShrimperZone CC

We're on a ghastly mid season run, much like last year. 6 defeats in our last 8 competitive games. One of those two wins was against Gatley though and if we can see off their NZ all rounder we should have a chance of getting a result. Fitness isn't great after a FI in our cup defeat however it's PC, PCH, PCH on a cracked top so it's looking like a result either way. Hoping to win the toss and bat.

Playing a team that has recently been taken over, at home so should win and keep up my 100% FC record.

Bowling first for a change!

End of Over 17 (8 runs). Lufbra XI: 29-2, runrate=1.71
Overs left today: 93
Symons 9-3-24-1
Hamilton* 2 (7 balls)
Mikea 7 (7 balls)
Last Wicket: South b. Carlisle 15 (FOW: 19/2)

A nice steady start.

End of Over 21 (3 runs). ShrimperZone CC: 57-0, runrate=2.71
Overs left today: 89
Naidoo 3-0-13-0
Lamey* 26 (58 balls)
Sinethemba 26 (69 balls)

Hubbards Hills CC v Southend (6261498)shortcut

Welcome to The Mole Hill for the match between Hubbards Hills CC and Southend.

We can tell you that Hubbards Hills CC won the toss and elected to field. The pitch is looking like a road. As flat as a pancake. No help for the bowlers on this partially cloudy and humid day.

End of Over 27 (Maiden). Southend: 75-0, runrate=2.78
Overs left today: 83
Clare 8-1-22-0
Dowe* 37 (73 balls)
Chill 37 (89 balls)

Lost the toss and batting, tomorrow is sunny too so can't see past a draw here. Frustrating as I'm playing probably the division's weakest side.

Two wickets down but we're ticking along at a reasonable rate, especially nice that we're scoring quite freely from Leacock who is NZ international.

End of Over 32 (9 runs). ShrimperZone CC: 96-2, runrate=3.00
Overs left today: 78
Leacock 7-2-26-0
Cunningham* 8 (12 balls)
Guneratne 11 (14 balls)

Last Wicket: Sinethemba c. Leacock b. Hibbert 36 (FOW: 80/2)

End of Over 65 (2 runs). General Stars: 166-3, runrate=2.55
Overs left today: 45
Lawrenson 12-1-26-1
Sookram* 23 (59 balls)
Browne 5 (18 balls)

Last Wicket: Waterhouse b. Lawrenson 19 (FOW: 156/3)

At least 2 days of PC&H days coming up in Essex so sure there will be a result either way!

The players are off the field for tea.

End of Over 70 (9 runs). Toro Bulls: 293-2, runrate=4.19
Overs left today: 40
Horwood 17-3-75-1
Convey* 33 (38 balls)
Peyton 37 (30 balls)
Last Wicket: Wright-Phillips b. Horwood 101 (FOW: 227/2)

Looking good for the declaration at 400 just before the close of play today so should get 10 or so overs at them later.

Not a good day to lose the toss as it's sunny today and PC&H for the next two, done pretty well despite the weather

Goatacre CC v Southend United

We can tell you that Goatacre CC won the toss and elected to bat. The pitch is looking a touch on the green side. All the seam bowlers have been out there rubbing their hands on this sunny day.

Let’s join our team for ball-by-ball commentary.

End of Over 83 (3 runs). Goatacre CC: 207-5, runrate=2.49
Overs left today: 27
Lake 19-7-40-0
Thomson* 24 (50 balls)
Cornick 3 (3 balls)
Last Wicket: Tailor c. Joost b. Baxter 53 (FOW: 202/5)

Very happy with this with 2 days of PCH to come. If we can get up to 320 we could have a chance of forcing a follow on.

End of Over 86 (2 runs). ShrimperZone CC: 288-6, runrate=3.35
Overs left today: 24
Howard 18-2-46-2
Helmsley* 54 (68 balls)
Benjamin 2 (10 balls)

Last Wicket: Guneratne b. Howard 87 (FOW: 274/6)

Declared at 403-2, with Convey stuck on 95*. Poor lad. 20 odd overs at them this evening to see what my bowlers can do. Looking at their squad, their players have higher wages and higher BT ratings. Judging by their bowling performance, this leads me to believe their players have rubbish PFL or stamina. We'll see how they bat!

The players are off the field for the change of innings.

End of Over 86 (13 runs). Toro Bulls: 403-2, runrate=4.69
Overs left today: 24
Siems 25-1-139-0
Convey* 95 (91 balls)
Peyton 81 (75 balls)
Last Wicket: Wright-Phillips b. Horwood 101 (FOW: 227/2)

Toddy, expect your opponents to GFI on Friday.

They've reversed their batting order and are playing joke bowlers. I racked up 430 in 70 overs and have them 35-6 but they now have a 200,000 BTR and a 90,000 BTR at the crease with their remaining batsmen (and they are batsmen), 105,000 BTR, 90,000 BTR and 185,000 BTR.

Baxter with immense figures

The players are off the field for the change of innings.

End of Over 96 (1 run). Goatacre CC: 225-10, runrate=2.34
Overs left today: 14
Baxter 18-5-31-7
Cornick* 19 (43 balls)
95.5 W Baxter to Mawer
Mawer has minced down the pitch, wafted at Baxter's slower ball like a fairy with a wand and Wright is finding it hilarious as he knocks the bails off. Some ribbing in the dressing room for Mawer coming up, I think.

End of Over 100 (Maiden). General Stars: 218-10, runrate=2.18
Overs left today: 10
Lawrenson 19-4-40-5
Ndungane* 2 (14 balls)

Thornley's comatose scoring rate aside, a good day's work:

End of Over 64 (2 runs). Pettefershire CCC: 213-3, runrate=3.33
Lead by 121 runs. (ABCC 92-10)
Overs left today: 0
Kepler 12-0-30-0
Paster* 55 (51 balls)
Thornley 5 (38 balls)

Last Wicket: Sookram c. Khuliso b. South 62 (FOW: 152/3)

BTW Can someone chuck at least £500,000 bid on Lucketti please as so far had 23 bids going up in 1k installments!

Oppo closed on 30-0 after i made 218!

Bobbys Gentle Touch v BATTY SHRIMPERS

Top-of-the-Table clash for me this week.

We trail them by 29 points, so need to win to have any chance of being promoted. Bearing in mind that I'm probably not going to get promoted in OD, and the fact that I've agreed a mutual TIE with HH on Friday, we've gone for a full-strength line-up. So far it seems to have paid off....

We can tell you that Bobbys Gentle Touch won the toss and elected to bat. The pitch is looking a bit on the dry side. A fair bit of help for the spinners I think on this sunny day.

End of Over 41 (Maiden). BATTY SHRIMPERS: 106-4, runrate=2.59
Trail by 39 runs. (Bobbys Gentle Touch 145-10)
Tomlinson 10-2-22-1
Ingram* 21 (42 balls)
Downing 24 (85 balls)

Last Wicket: Nagendranath lbw b. Hadland 16 (FOW: 69/4)

Bowling Bowling Mushy v DIBS DIPPERS

Same situation for Mrs BB, as she trails BBM by 17 points. She had a great day yesterday, and has set her declaration for 320 to try and get a bowl at them today.

We can tell you that DIBS DIPPERS won the toss and elected to field. The pitch is looking a bit on the dry side. A fair bit of help for the spinners I think on this partially cloudy and humid day.

End of Over 44 (5 runs). DIBS DIPPERS: 88-1, runrate=2.00
Trail by 88 runs. (Bowling Bowling Mushy 176-10)
Cotterill 11-5-13-0
Gowland* 23 (56 balls)
Stride 22 (112 balls)

Last Wicket: Zubair c. Crockett b. Habib 39 (FOW: 62/1)

Gatley finished 32-0 in reply to our 328. Hoping we can get some early reward in the PCH conditions.

First breakthrough, lots of batting down to 8 though so plenty to do today.

End of Over 14 (Maiden). Gatley: 38-1, runrate=2.71
Trail by 290 runs. (ShrimperZone CC 328-10)
Overs left today: 105
Helmsley 7-3-14-1
Sayce* 21 (35 balls)
Swartz 0 (8 balls)

Last Wicket: Bissell lbw b. Helmsley 16 (FOW: 36/1)
