I went to Riga this weekend a year ago. It's not *really* cheap, but I went for two nights and came back with change from £200. That was food, beer and plenty of vodka - no titty bars or suchlike.

A grand sounds way too high, but I guess it depends on what you fancy getting up to! Enjoy.

I took three hundred quid for Riga for three nights and it was more than enough. In fairness I don't touch drugs or brasses so if you planning on these then maybe you need more.

I have always had the habbit of worring about cash so I always take more then I need

The currency over there - the lat - is a bit confusing as rather than being like the monopoly money you often get in that part of the world, it's actually worth more than the pound. Currently 1 lat = £1.27. I kept on thinking I was being ripped off.

Dont take too much there is a tendency for young ladies to con you out of money in these eastern european countries.... not talking from experience of course.

Get yourself a pre-loaded credt card like caxton do,take 300/400 then put 200/300 on the card in case you double up on toot and brasses.
