he is still with us..
According to some (the catholic church included) he was never here in the first place.
By here I mean , of this world, (bit like dragons I s'pose) not here in England, which of course he wasn't (just as he wasn't in Germany, Lithuania, Georgia etc etc)

I did kinda mean that St Georges Day isn't celebrated on the 23rd April because that was the day he was born, but because that was the day he was killed for proclaiming his views that killing christians was wrong.

Happy Birthday William Shakespeare however.

Oh, and my brother Lewis for tomorrow.

I passed my driving test this morning, so St George's Day will forever be special for me now!

It should be made more of though, just like St Patricks Day is for the Irish.

Let's campaign to have a public holiday!

Not confirmed.

He was definitely baptized on the 26th though, and as he died on the 23rd of April, thought it would be cool to say he was born on same day.

I tend to agree with the idea of a National Holiday, but on a day which is more meaningful (and perhaps a bit more unique) and British. We are not a particularly Relgious race so a days holiday for a Saint, in addition to Christmas and the two at easter, does smack of hypocrisy

Queens birthday ??

Well Tessa Wyatt is the one who gave Tony Blackburn a breakdown many years ago after dumping him for Richard O'Sullivan...
Anyone else remember his tearful ramblings on Breakfast Radio ?

copy and paste job

quite a lot of randoms

would suspect they are not even famous.

don't know though

may the detective come to our rescue.

All this cr*p about St.George being patron saint of other countries ... so?

St Patrick is the patron saint of Nigeria.

St Paddy is also the patron saint of excluded people, although isn't that pretty well covered by the Irish?

About 8.30pm - the landlord has got a late licence until 12am so no worries about rushing beers down your neck....
