Home & Away Form

I had a boring morning at work and decided to flick through some old tables on TLG to see how our away form compares to previous years as we seem to have done quite well on our travels this year.

The 26 points gained away from home make it our best tally since 1990/91 when we got 40 points on our way to promotion to the old division 2.

But, if we fail to pick up a point on saturday we are stranded on only 28 home points this year. To find a year when we scored less you have to go back to 1975/76 when we only scored 25. But, this was in the days of two points for a win and when converted to three it converts to 34 points. you then have 1973/74 27 points converts to 37, 1970/71 27 to 35, 1961/62 27 to 37 and finally all the way back to the days of the old division three south of 1948/49 to find only 19 points which converts to only 24 points.

thats effectively 55 years back to find a worse season for home form.

and even then we played less games so still might have beaten 28.

Obviously this all becomes irrelevant on Saturday when we beat Torquay which makes me a bit of a sad anorak.

I still think we'll get promoted next year anyway. Roll on 2004/2005.

Home and Away has been going downhill recently, as have a lot of Australian soaps.

It's just lucky that I taped every episode of the Sullivans and have them to fall back on.

Does anyone remember the episode of neighbours where Jim and Doug accidently ate magic mushrooms?

Cheers.

it went downhill when the original Pippa was replaced.
She was headhunted by Geoff King to run his caravan park.

it's quite alarming the amount of information people on here know about australian soaps!
