Happy Birthday, SUFC_Spike, and good luck with the driving lessons!

Cardiff and Carlisle, but as these two involved driving a little over 2200 miles, I didn't think the missus would let me go to any more

Thanks very much, I think I'll need all the luck I can get with the old driving!!

I'm hoping to have passed by next season so I can get to a few more games (home and away) than I did this season, and am definatly going to a few games already.

I went to every home game and most away.I missed around 5 away games, including Orient !! But that was due to me being extremely ill and contagious !!

Wasn't going to bother with this, but noticed that of the few that have listed them all, we seem to have many in common, so:

(Unlucky?)13 = Orient, Cheltenham, Col Ewe, Cambridge, Oxford, Yeovil, Kiddy, Scunny, Hull, Rochdale, Millennium, Canvey, Northampton

Not bad, considering how under the thumb I am.

Doncaster
Oxford
Kidderminster
Macclesfield
Cheltenham
Scarborough
Colchester
Orient
Cardiff
Northampton
Rochdale
Oh and Millwall reserves - does that count ;)

Controversial choice, Durera! Never a fan of Bacon myself... too much anger, too violently pornographic (in the classical sense) for my liking. Tate Britain used to have a lot of his stuff, not sure if it's still there or if it's over in the Tate Modern now...

Then again, I am resolutely conservative in my art tastes - give me the Pre-Raphaelites or the Impressionists any day of the week.

I prefer the work of Rolf Harris.

The Tate Modern had a 'Bacon room', but that was back a year or two ago (haven't been since to my shame, however it does seem that's more than VS...).

What you don't like about Bacon is probably what I DO like... more internal, and so therefore, IMHO, more expresionistic then some other so-called expressionists. Very similar to my music tastes, I suppose. From the that era of the School of London, only really him and Freud struck a chord with me, and Bacon was a friend of William S Burroughs, so he wins...

Ah, but you see, that's because I'm a big, wistful woolly liberal... hence I love to get all whimsical about the vibrant detail of a Millais, or the ephemeral nuances of a Renoir...

How on Earth have we gone from number of away games attended to the violence of Bacon.

FWIW, I think he's alright. But my tastes are cosmopolitan- Brueghel, Bosch, Goya, Manet and Seurat.
