If you had a time machine....

I'd like to go back to mid-seventies Leigh-on-Sea to see what being a teenager and young adult was like for my dad.

Oh dear God, that makes me feel positively ancient because I (and Shrimpero and Canvey Shrimper) were all a part of that!

Leigh Comm on a Friday night dancing to the "Hustle" or "Me and Baby Brother".

Ha! CS could hardly have been a teenager back in them-mid. 70's days!

Another one for the time tourism list, 2nd September 1898. Omdurman, Khartoum.

The last British Cavalry charge, Winston Churchill, and General Kitchener all in one place and demonstrating that "they don't like it up 'em"

I would probably go back and re watch Eldorado, Albion Market and some if the other shows that didn't make it.

This is something I've thought about a few times and have a few specific events and eras I'd love to witness first hand.

One would be the first Ali (then Cassius Clay) Liston fight in 1964 when he first won the title.

Always been a big Michael Jackson fan so seeing him live in concert in his prime would be another. Someone I worked with a few years ago went to see MJ at Wembley stadium in the 80's and said i was pretty incredible.

As it was the subject of my dissertation at University, going back to 1860's America would be fascinating seeing the writing of and reaction to the 13th, 14th and 15th Amendments, the abolition of slavery and change of rights for African Americans.

For similar reasons for being around in the 1860's, America in the 1960's would also be interesting. Being at the Lincoln Memorial for Martin Luther King's I Have A Dream speech, witnessing sit-ins, protests on civil rights and the Vietnam War. Have always found that era very interesting.

Sounds like they were just trying to butter you up.

Late 40's/Early 50's San Fran & NY to hang out with Jack Kerouac & the beats and see some of the jazz greats perform in their prime.

1907/08 to see Chicago Cubs actually win it.

1906 The Blue Boar to witness the formation of SUFC.

April 5 1994, Seattle. I'd stop that evil skank destroying one of the most talented musicians to walk the earth.

July 30 1966, London. Obviously.

November 7 2006, Roots Hall. There's no way I'd be able to resist the temptation to go back and watch this for a second time. Plus I'd put more than a few quid on this time as well.

Roswell, the summer of 1947. The truth is out there, and so would I be to find it out.

Era's I'd like to have seen;

Early 1200's, watching Ghengis Khan and his Mongol army tearing down the walls of the massive Chinese cities would have been a sight to behold.

Tudor London, the era has always fascinated me, and to be able to experience the growth of the finest Capital City in the world would be amazing.
