Jordan pilot. It is time to end this madness.

I really do urge people to read The Islamist by Ed Husain. It really is an eye opener. I've said before that this man should be wheeled out time and again to speak about Islamist extremism - he makes an awful lot of sense.
I'm as sickened as everyone but it's obvious Isis are trying to get the world to react in the same way Saddam Hussein tried to get Israel to react in the first Gulf war by firing missiles at them. Personally I would be happy to let the Israelis kill every last one of them but this clearly can't happen.
I've met countless people who have been to the middle east in the 60's and 70's and every one of them loved the experience - Lebanon, Syria, Jordan etc utterly Beautiful welcoming countries to all faiths and non faiths alike. Whats gone so desperately wrong then. Look no further than Saudi Arabia and and the evil hate mongers who now live in europe. The kind of evil some who post on this forum are so keen to defend.
Free speech ? Bollocks.
what evil is being defended on here?

Maybe but my point still stands. I didn't ask for reasons why things are as they are. Now please answer the question.

I answered it !

No you didn't! I pointed out that withdrawing all western influence and troops from all Muslim states and letting them get on with it isn't a viable option and I also pointed out the reasons why.

Regardless of why we find ourselves in this situation regarding IS and Muslim fundamentalism in general I asked you to explain what you mean by 'get on with it' which you carefully sidetracked.

What would you leave them alone to do bearing in mind the points I made about it really not being a safe and viable option.

As I said the West should only become involved via an invite from the Arab States which is the only way forward.

Uninvited Western forces are stoking the problem further.

:stunned: WOW! Just WOW!

What's done is done. We are where we are NOW.

Do you honestly believe that the radicals/extremists/terrorists, call them what you will, would just down guns, stop murdering innocents, stop wiping out whole towns of men, women and children? Do you honestly think they'd quit trying to impose Sharia Law where it's not wanted or allow women an education. Do you think they'd just give up on the idea of a Caliphate in a country that doesn't want it.

Do you honestly believe the radicals that want all of the above and want to impose Sharia Law her in the UK would just stop and think to themselves 'ah, it's ok now, they've left. As you were Abdul'?

And in case you hadn't noticed we are where we are in the world troop wise by invite. The US hasn't invaded anywhere and neither have we or any other western country. It's against international law to put foreign troops on to another countries sovereign soil without the express permission of said country (unless it's specifically sanctioned by the UN)

As I said before your view is both simplistic and naive in the extreme.............but expected.

We do go in there with invites from there though, as we generally have to operate from Saudi etc.

Jordan have already asked for assistance from the US.

Well apart from Iraq :dim:

And this is where where Russia comes in. They are basically invading Ukraine, but trying to make it look like it is just Russian rebels. They are doing it very slowly bit by bit, as if they used their real power, no one would believe that they are not behind it. This is how they are getting around this illegal invasion, whilst Putin fobs everyone off.

Lets not get on to the whole Iraq/Oil illegal war thing. It's been done to death and what's done is done. It doesn't change the situation in the here and now.

mrsblue ....... The cause of the radicalization of so many Muslims etc is not in question. What's in question in this thread is what to do about it now. You've stated we should pull all troops out of countries we've not been invited to help in. (which is none to my knowledge) So how do you propose putting and end to the murder and genocide?

It would help for one Phil it those mega-rich countries in the Middle East started pulling their own fingers out to solve the problems there..I am not saying ISIS is not a world problem as it seems to be now, although as I have stated before we cast the first stone...

I am all for backing others if they are prepared to help themselves. Most countries in that region don't want to get involved and leave it to us in The West to become the police...That is fundamentally wrong IMO. Why are Jordan for one not asking their rich neighbours and allies to help first. Why are the USA and Western allies seen as the one and only answer to these problems? Action must be taken I agree.

PS: You can't just gloss over Iraq as an example as it suits your argument.

Not been in this thread for a while. Just popping in to see if the SZ community have managed to solve the Middle East and international terrorism yet?

No? Ok. I'll leave you to it and check on progress next week.

And kidnap and multiple rape of any female 9 years and over. Yes, apparently, in their sick world, girls of 9 years is O.K. and not to be frowned upon. It was on Channel 4 news last night, I was so sickened as I have a young daughter myself, that I had to stop watching and changed the channel.

This is an argument I been having all week on other threads on here...people saying well it's ok for them with their own beliefs to do as they please over there ...thats all ok , but bring any of your idealism over here and it ****es us off...wrong is wrong simple as from whatever corner of the world you come from. I used Saudi as an example.
