I wouldn't mind going back to Wembley again next year.....................................but NOT for this tin-pot trophy! :winking: No interest at all, although I wouldn't mind a little run in the FA Cup
Are you actually saying you would not go to Wembley to see Southend in their 4th final of recent years?
I would be there and I live 240 miles away!

We now have a strong squad and ought to be able to field nearly a full 11 players for this who might not be regular league selections AND who ought to want to show their talents, enthusiasm and fitness to break into the Saturday side. I am sure being able to "side up" Ted, Luke, Kevan, Bolg and Thommo etc would be good for keeping & getting them match ready.

In all honesty I wouldnt be fussed for the JPT.

Play off final yes please, but the only point to the JPT is to get to Wembley and we have been there twice already, wouldnt be the same after the last one.

Nonsense. any trip to wembley is still amazing.

Play-off Final?................like a shot, I think I'd even walk (about 850kms), if I couldn't afford the fare. JPT......must say I enjoyed the day against Crewe, far more than the match itself. The only advantage with the JPT was that I wasn't too miffed about the defeat. Would have to think very carefully about coming to another JPT Final. It's so essential we cement our place in League One this season and I would wish for less games with less chances of injuries or suspensions. It's clearly another debate but I have always thought our trip to the last Final, with the serious injury to Timlin, possibly cost us promotion.........................and Paul Sturrock his job.
As I said above a little run in the FA Cup (3rd/4th Round) would be good.......yet the absolute priority is League One

So I take it you wont be in attendance at Wembly should we make the final?

Your take is spot on.

Having been to Cardiff twice and Wembley for the Crewe game I've fallen out of love for this competition. Although each to their own, the gloss of the penalty shoot out in May is still with me, but this season we do not need this distraction, thats what I believe. Seeing us win at Wembley a few months back sated my appetite.

I would absolutely love to see us at Wembley for the JPT final, and if we won that would be absolutely cosmic. How on earth can you become blasé about your team playing at Wembley?

Exactly my thoughts. Love the cup competitions. Increases confidence/memories/revenue/excitement. I hope we do well in this one.

Winning a cup is one of the few things I haven't seen Southend do.

I'd love to do a FA and JPT double this year.
