Has any ever thought that the reason people shop at Sportsworld and wear clothing made by Lonsdale etc its that it is of a reasonable quality and is affordable ?
It isn't always viable to buy this years designs when you have 3 kids to clothe..

Early 90's Chevignon and French Connection were my bag, until, as mentioned earlier, they got all FCUK'ed up.
Then it was Helly Hansen. £300 for a yacht jacket, then a year later, chavs ahoy, and they come down to about 50p in TK's. Still got quite a cool Helly boarders jacket though.
Yves St Laurent and Ben Sherman used to be desirable until Croats and Bosnians hi-jacked them to go with their crappy fake leather jackets.
And let's not forget Armani, I don't think I ever saw a label lose it's street cred so quickly after Tesco started selling them for a while a few years back.

Did the quality of the product drop after it became more affordable ? or was it just the "Look at me I'm wearing something expensive" factor which was lost.

Its like Loadsamoney all over again......

I'm very not a chav, i have got some very rocker lonsdale shoes checked. I liked the Vans version of them but they were 40 odd pound. So i done the cheap and got the Lonsdale version for £7.50

reebok classics
west ham shirts
nickleson polo's
helly hansen
eisenegger
dunlop
these are all labels that unfortunately i can no longer wear because of the ''yoof'' of today.

I'd disagree about Helly Hansen. The majority of their kit isnt made for fashion in the first place
