Breaking News Liverpool seal deal for Southend youngster

No big deal. Saw him play in the reserves and he looked similar to Laurent but very gangly and wasn't very strong so never would have thought he would go to Liverpool for £250,000! I think his mates and family were sat behind us when we saw him to and it sounded like he was linked with a few London clubs but more Leyton Orient than Chelsea!

Is this the lad that played for Manure in that recent tourney in Ireland?

Nice bit of business and a timely one at that. Straight towards the HMRC bill methinks. So the scousers could have Ngoo and Ngog upfront, bit random!

Blimey the youth production line goes on. Shame we can't actually use that £250,000 on the senior team. :'(

In true then in fairness good to get £250k for a player that is nowhere near the first team is pretty good business. Wonder if its all money upfront or a load of sell on clauses etc etc.

Bloody hell 250k is an absolutely huge price to receive. Can't think of many players in the past who have gone for that sort of sum apart from the obvious ones. What a massive transfer for us.

Can't think of any of our current first team squad that would fetch that amount. :whistling:

Liverpool, meanwhile, have sealed a £250,000 deal with Southend United for the transfer of Michael Ngoo, a 16-year-old centre forward who was also being watched by Manchester United. Ngoo, who is 6ft 4in and has been likened in style to Peter Crouch, impressed during a recent trial with United but Liverpool have beaten their North West rivals to his signature after meeting Southend’s asking price.

In a departure from the recent furore surrounding the transfers of a number of teenagers, the deal for Ngoo has not resulted in acrimony between Liverpool and Southend, with the Coca-Cola League One club praising their Barclays Premier League counterparts for the way negotiations were conducted

Where did this come from please John?

Seems a shame the OS havent run a story yet which makes me think the paperwork is probably not signed?

Or the fact they don't want us to know about a £250k injection so we all start clamouring for 1st team loan signings again....
.....or perhaps they need it for the tax man! Praising Liverpool because they've paid up front.
