Motion sensors/outside lights

Hi all.

Our house (mid-terrace) has an enclosed alley which we use day in day out to get to our back door (we're in yorkshire, no one uses the front!). The alley doesn't have any lights and so in the winter when it's dark it's not easy or pleasant heading down there. Even more so with a pram or baby in a car seat.

On the back of our house I have an external light with a built in motion sensor. So when you get to the back door it lights up.

I want to rig up 2 lights along the alley, and a third light on the back door. I'd like motion sensors at the back of the house, and one at the front of the alley. If either of the motion sensors are triggered, all 3 lights come on.

The existing light/sensor is just running off a spur from the kitchen lights and has it's own switch at the backdoor. Would I be able to rig this all just from that, or would it be better to get an electrician to sort it all? I'm happy wiring things up but want to get the right stuff and know that my plan is possible before spending cash. The websites for various devices aren't particularly helpful.

The lights down the alley don't need to be very bright, just enough to give some light to see where you're going.

I've studied the plans, and think that if we tunnel in from the house next door, we should be able to come up just under the safe and be away on our toes before Pubey wakes up.

Surely it would be more fun to buy yourself some night vision goggles.
LOL

Very good.

Think I've found what I'm after, here.
