The Business
Been off-line at home for more time than I care to think about due to change of jobs. Any word on the big man? Has he gone to Swindon?

Swindon are waiting to hear back about whether their bid has been accepted.

We're strongly rumoured to have agreed personal terms but no news on whether we're upping our bid to meet Wolves' valuation.

Dont think he as gone to swindon yet. Probably good news as I think maybe if he wanted to go there, I think it would have been done and dusted by now. Fingers crossed and all that!

Says in echo today we are still interested, and sounds like we may use cash from sale of Hooper to get Mulgrew. I think Swindon may have offered less than us anyway.

Why is cash suddenly such as issue?

I wouldnt be surprised to see the hooper deal sorted sharpish then we pay wolves 150/160 k (just a guess on the value btw) and only shelling out 60/70 k ourselves, could work out very well.

Mulgrew

I thought Swindon were after Charlie Mulgrew? ;)

SWINDON Town have reached an agreement in principle with Wolves over the signing of Richie Mulgrew - with boss Maurice Malpas hoping to secure the deal in the next 48 hours.

Malpas is hopeful personal terms will be agreed over the weekend, allowing him to unveil the left back early next week.

He also revealed his interest in Manchester United youngster Ritchie Jones was now dead while admitted it would take a "minor miracle" to sign midfielder Josh Low from Peterborough.

Swindon have upped their bid for Wolves left-back Charlie Mulgrew and are close to agreeing a fee.

Wolves rejected the Robins’ initial bid for Mulgrew, believed to be in the region of £125,000.

Now Wolves are reported to have dropped their asking price, so a new offer looks set to be accepted.

Swindon boss Maurice Malpas, who managed Mulgrew when he was in charge of Scotland under-21s, is hopeful the two clubs will agree the price today.

Then they are free to discuss personal terms with Mulgrew.

The former Celtic defender has slipped to fourth choice left-back at Molineux behind George Elokobi, Michael Gray and Daniel Jones.

After making just six appearances for Wolves in a season and a half, he spent the final three months of 2006-07 on loan at Southend, who have also been very keen to land him.

That is a bl**dy understatement.

Why did the club let this happen if we were so keen on him?

How did we let him get away especially after his performances last season?

We need answers NOW!!!!!!

Why would he want to go to southend apart from the unfortunate fact he had to spend some time there last season?

People finishing school early these days?

I think its got to be harder to lose the services of Mulgrew on a perm, then get him in, surely we must have been notified of his avaliablilty much earlier then anyone else
