New ground update?

My bet would be the 4th side will be funded by the new owners in some capacity...... if they got the ambition to drive sufc up the leagues then there shouldn't be any issues with the 4th side being built. For now we need ron to **** off ASAP!

16k capacity stadium is about right, bournemouth have 10k stadium in the Premier league...... that level admittedly clubs aren't reliant on the match going fan.

It’s say capacity of under 11k, that is no good for any new owner to buy the club and no room for expansion if we ever move up the league etc.
Capacity is 16250 when the stadium is built with the main stand in place.
But the new owners may have input into the layout of the New stadium and increase capacity.

Doesn’t appear a huge amount of scope for expansion if we ever needed it (unlikely)

With all the flats the main stand will be ruled out for expansion? The West stand is near the Crematorium, so unlikely. The East stand borders the protected site and then you have the South stand with the plaza and tower blocks.

@Sherif H whats your thoughts on potential for increasing capacity with these plans?

The 4th main stand (5,282 seats) no doubt will be down to new owners now to finance and could take many years to follow, if at all (despite the noise that it would "follow quickly/be built in tandem" etc) This concerns me greatly I'm afraid and always has done. We could be the modern day Oxford, renting a 3 sided stadium.

Very deep pockets required to deliver what Ron promised, but scaled back on massively to barely fulfil weak planning criteria.

Don't get me wrong, I am over the moon Ron is on his way out, it's a necessity. But, I can't help feeling we have all been taken for right mugs on a number of things.

Hopefully the new owners see the potential in the whole project and the club and can raise the finance sharp to not only steady us day to day, but to purchase the 3 sides and get the wheels in motion on the main stand. Because without ownership of the site or 4 sides, we are in trouble.

2,700 safe standing seats is good though and will help the atmosphere, which can get lost at new stadiums.

I understand the concerns about the capacity on a 3 sided stadium.
But the new owners may steam ahead and build the 4 sided stadium that we really need.
We are only guessing and getting excited, just need to wait a while and see !

So if the new owners are going to build the 4th side I assume the flats incorporated in the stand would belong to said owner. Which could actually be an incentive....or am I clutching

The three sided capacity will be lower than Roots Hall, I can’t think of many clubs who move to a smaller stadium! Even if this stadium is ever built I doubt the fourth side will be for a long time. I’m sure it will be delightful sitting in the three sided ground during the winter with cold gusts of wind blowing in…
Roots hall capacity will be 3000 by the time we move and more roofs cave in. I just hope there is capacity to expand the other 3 sides should we ever need to. Maybe a second tier.

maybe a new owner is closer than we think and they want the 4th (main stand) to have uses that ron didnt have plans for and to stop further delays it has been taken out to allow the progress to be as quick as poss

Just imagine a bracing wind hitting you...

Yeah I’m hoping there’s an incentive for new owners to get it built. Whether it be residential, hotel, conference, office space or a mix. If Ron holds the cards then it’s an issue.

What are people's thoughts on how many fans we could attract if we ever do get into our new stadium?

With new owners, an injection of cash to strengthen the playing side, could we attract an average attendance of around 12k to begin with?
With Ron out of the picture, I imagine quite a few of the current stay away disgruntled fans would return to increase numbers. An attractive opening season ticket price would be a great way to get the next generation of supporters through the door.

I've just been looking at Brighton's current crowds and I know they are in the Premier League, but it's staggering to see that they sell out every week with 31,500 crowds. I remember back in the 90s when they played at the Goldstone Ground they'd only get around 7-8000.

No way we get anywhere near 12 consistently at this level.

I'm sure maybe even the first 3 or 4 games at the new ground will sell out.

Heaven forbid we are still here but you won't see 5 figures against the bulk of teams below league 1.

Hopefully the new owners will scrap the flats plans on main stand, then build conference room/hotel/bars etc to use the stadium 24/7.

We’ve got thousands of stay away, disgruntled fans? I know we’ve got disgruntled fans but wasn’t aware many stayed away. I’m surrounded by them where I sit.
