The chance to make it 3-1 will haunt me.

Thought it was in the bag then.

3 mins later we were 3-2 down.

We gave our all, every single one of them.

Tifo was a good touch and it definitely looked like we outnumbered them.

Just the way it goes sometimes. It was a bonus getting there. A win today would’ve been amazing.

God I hate this league.

Goodliffe was running on fumes before the 90, let alone before the second half of extra-time. Taylor was immense but there’s only so many miracles you can ask of him. Hayes once again left looking like the weakest link.

Another season to consolidate, strengthen the front line which was evident we were lacking the cutting edge off the bench, and in goal, and we can be contenders again. Carlisle, York, and others won’t make it easy, but in April I didn’t think we’d make the play-offs this year.

I thought it was every bit a penalty as the one they should have had first half. You could clearly see the contact between the defenders leg and KAF despite the best efforts in the Oldham, I mean DAZN commentators to suggest otherwise. There were also plenty of fouls that went unpunished that led to Oldham attacks and you could even say on another day, a different referee gives a foul for Goodliffe in the buildup to the equaliser. Really poor showing from the referees today.
 
Sorry everyone. Gutted for everyone involved with the club. Luck and energy ran out today, just didn't had enough to kill the game off at 2-1 and now we probably feel a bit of what we did to Rochdale and FGR

It’s not your age. I’m feeling it too.
 
Easy for me to say after game, but I do feel with need an old head to steady the defence 2-1 up and still a long while to play but personally feel a more experienced head would have calmed nerves and over eager players

As you are allowed to be happy, I'm allowed not to be.

Things won't change while we accept players not performing in their actual positions.

While when chasing the game for a goal we take off the most dynamic midfielder I've seen in a Southend shirt for a while.

In the last 5 minutes 5 crosses by the same player didn't beat the first man.

Players love a bit bit of hyping up the crowd but will do something in-between a speed walk and very gentle jog when getting back into position.

Too many flatter to deceive.

Yes. Unthinkable we'd get all the way to the final.

Sadly not unthinkable that we'd **** it up.
