Just watching the Prem matches. The Chelsea game, the fans behind the Charleton end 2nd half never sat down as far as I could see. The Man U game, Richardson just raised both hands and shoved the 'Pool player in the chest right in front of the ref (a la Freddy) and got just a yellow. What was that about "raise your hands to an opponent and it's a red"? I have seen any number of similar incidents in the prem, some easily as bad as Freddy, and none has got more than a yellow yet.

The ref can't be seen to send off Manure players at Old Trafford, you know. It might anger their manager...

I'll second that. Many clubs' stewards, especially our own, could learn a lot from the stewarding at Tranmere.

Definitely thought their stewards were not only on fair but also had a sense of humour too...I asked one why they were all older and they had not youg stewards...he turned round and said to me they'd just "send out the younger ones to steal our hubcaps"!!!

No hint of any form of greif at all throughout the whole game. Flags allowed to be stuck on seats etc....with no Discussing. Credit where credits due! (hope they didn't see me break the seat i trod on!!!)

yup, agreed here. They joined in the 'one Harry Potter ' chant aimed at Matt the Shrimp and even agreed that their guy dived in the first half!

Surely though Fabregas' red yesterday was similar to Freddy's?
More so that Mike Riley bottled it at OT today!

I dunno Rich, Freddy gave a two handed shove in the chest, just like today. Fabregas was a hand to the throat and threw the guy down. The only difference with Freddy was he gave the guy a second shove. But I agree with the thrust (sorry) of your point. It's not that Freddy shouldn't have gone, but if he went then why not all these Prem players?

Why does anyone bother with stewards? If they interfere, stick together & they will soon decide not to be not so brave. Just try it.They will soon f**k off

One thing that got me was, Freddy had an extra ban given because of our appeal being "Frivolous" when the actual offence was nothing more than a bit of handbags between 2 players...

Cristiano Ronaldo however, went in high, studs up and with intent to injure Andy Cole last weekend, yet Man Utds appeal was just refused... Surely there appeal was more frivolous than ours as it was a clear cut sending off?

I stand to be corrected, but as far as I know Freddy is the only player to have his ban extended for a frivolous appeal.

Sven, sack him now not later.
If Sven gets the sack just before the world cup then thats another reason to burn down NoTW's offices.

The mentality of that paper makes me sick, why would anybody think stitching up the England manager 6 months prior to a world cup would be a good idea.

Stick to naming and shaming paediatricians and philanthropists after all it does sound a little bit like paedophile so they must be guilty!!!!

Consider yourself corrected. A Stoke player (against Southampton) who was sent off for violent conduct also got an extra match.

I'm sure it was the spurious issue of the Southampton match which led them to believe (wrongly) that the appeal was frivolous.

Freddy was the first, but there has been at least one more this season, although I can't remember the details...

Exactly, all we want is a bit of consistency.

Refs seems to think that because they are 'only' officiating at a crappy League 1 game that sub standard refereeing will do.

Get really fed up with the clowns we get that stop the game every 10 seconds for petty things but when a meaty challenge happens in the box he just waves it away.
Whereas we all know if that was Owen or Rooney it would be a cert penalty.

GRRRRR,I'm getting really wound up now

What did Ferguson say " Ronaldo was nowhere near him.."

That was only because had Cole not jumped he would have been mincemeat..

Does the word "intent" mean anything to that Scots sassenach.
What pees me off is that he believes he's right!

Tilly would have been crucfied by the FA for those comments.
